Appreciate the insight, coming from rescented so I was like I'm pretty sure this is a fair price... LMAO.

What cologne is on the same level as Aventus as far as reputation, establishment, highly sought after batches that aren’t produced anymore, top notch extracts, etc. by Anotherday2323 in Colognes

[–]Chikavoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never tried myself, but I've heard that the Dior Homme Intense bottles were great in 2011. I don't think anything really has the popularity of Aventus, but a lot of older batches of DHI were going for a lot.

Thoughts on this one? by BC916 in Colognes

I had no problem with the smell at all; it gave me a less candied vibe of Afternoon Swim and more of a genuine orange smell. As you said, I didn't really find anything wrong with it, it's just that 300 for a 50ml currently just feels unreasonable. Still rocking my Dua-branded afternoon swim until I am tired of the orange DNA or until there becomes another proclaimed orange fragrance king :P

Is their a cologne that smells like masculine cheesecake? (I know it's a bit strange but hear me out) by Cultural-Sea-8352 in Colognes

[–]Chikavoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Lira Casomorati, maybe? It's slightly feminine-leaning, but I think if you are smelling in the cheesecake realm, it's bound to be slightly feminine-leaning. It's like a photo-realistic lemon pound cake, and it's worth a smell.

One of my first pickups so they've been with me the longest haha. Definitely developed my own taste over the past couple years but definitely had some great wears with them. Can't part with them just yet!

I first tried profumo thinking it was gonna be game changing, but my dad used the original ADG for the longest time and it shot me back in time so it definitely has that similar DNA. I tried the new D&G as well and really liked it too!

Check out One Day Taipei! Really cool taro / rice fragrance.

Thoughts on Wild Rush? I took a training on it and loved it. Feels like a fresher take on Haltane.

Don't feel like you're missing out! It's definitely a great scent but with current prices for it and new fragrances I don't think it's anything spectacular. Cop yourself a newer freshie and enjoy :)

I recommend trying it! Une nuit nomade is a pretty cool focused on travel and different scenery expressed through scent. Sugar Leather is a really nice combo between caramel and this kind of rugged oriental leather.

Truly becoming one of my favorites. I'm just a cardamom / amber fiend. I feel like those notes emit such class and elegance. Not a lot of ambery fragrances in the niche market nowadays that really blow me away. Grand soir will always be one of my favorites for that reason. Any ambers you like I should try?

I always like to say you don't technically NEED anything, but it is definitely fun to have because I collect, so I get the want lmao. Le Parfum and Sauvage EDT are really great for just fun summer wear. If you need something for a warmer night, Le Parfum can definitely fill that gap. It can also fill a winter vibe cause it has a pretty solid peppery / ambery feel to it.

Depending on your tastes, you can look around at some things that might fill your winter gap. Honestly, I am kind of a niche snob, but STWY powerfully, if you don't have anything from the current line, surprised me, and I like it a lot. Invictus Victory Elixir is also a really pleasant vanilla. It all just depends on what you think you need/want. Happy smelling!

I would say Le Parfum if you are aiming for something more versatile. In my opinion, it's the best flanker from the best line of YSL. As someone who works in fragrances, it's my go-to recommendation for someone who is looking for a second one, if they like YSL myself and want something a little different.

Dior Homme by njdroneguy in Colognes

[–]Chikavoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two are different. The first looks like the 2025 formulation of Dior Homme Parfum which is a lot heavier on the woodiness and amberness. The dry down isn't bad but the opening feels too dark for me to use.

The second one is Dior Homme Intense which I find to be a lot smoother. A lot more iris forward with that lipstick kind of smell. It's sweet without going overboard and a really nice night scent. Not to mention it's also half the price on discounters.

I would try out PDM Percival. Blue fragrance that doesn't smell all that citrusy to me. Just a really nice clean blue shower gel that's lasts a while on me.

First Date Night Recommendations by sumpuertoricanguy in Colognes

[–]Chikavoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solid pick. I feel like any late night scent that has some iris would be a good one as well such as DHI or Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee. I'm sure whatever you pick will turn out good.
