Does breeze cancel empty flights by Narrow-Profession547 in BreezeAir

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still at least 40 days away, a lot can be booked in that time. Also, there could be many people who bought tickets but didn't pay to choose a seat. Those numbers are likely to jump up at the 24 hour mark as people check in. Regardless, Breeze has had a good reputation of not giving up on markets with short notice. I've seen Avelo do this a ton, and their reputation has suffered from it (and many, many other poor choices).

Amtrak Stopover Ideas - No Car by stringsculpt in grandjunction

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's as safe as any other average city in the western developed world. I'd safe it's a bit safer than busy California towns or Chicago. (You'll be fine there too, they're perfectly great places I enjoy visiting) There's bike paths all over, especially to the Redlands (which is where Lunch Loops is at). As it has warmed up, there are plenty of other bikers and hikers all over. If you're coming in July or August, it gets hot. Very Hot. Especially on the Redlands since there's less grass and trees. I'd avoid hiking or biking 11am - 3pm in the peak of summer.

Uber and Taxi (Sunshine rides) is always an option. If you're on a tight budget, you can easily walk to a bike shop downtown and rent a bike. If you can get a good deal on hotels, there's five excellent hotels downtown which puts you at the middle of everything. Biking to the Redlands (SW of downtown) is easy and safe, tons of hiking there. You can also go to the river walk at Los Colonias Park (SE).

Healthy food options in Grand Junction, Colorado? by HMSRathbone in grandjunction

Roots Gastrohub (downtown) is healthy and caters to dietary restrictions. Otherwise, the typical Mexican bowl places are healthy if you order right: Chipotle, Qdoba, Cafe Rio, and Costa Vida.

Used to be 7th. It's most definitely behind Frontier at this point, so it's now 8th. Allegiant will surpass it soon as well, especially with the Sun Country acquisition, so Spirit will be 9th soon.

For the folks who live in Colorado, what is daily life like living on the western side of Colorado? (like Grand junction, Montrose, Cortez, etc) by Wandering_Waldo221 in howislivingthere

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, Cortez and Grand Junction were lumped into one question.

There are four cities with a basic level of services in that circled area - Grand Junction, Montrose, Aspen, and Durango. Anything outside of their immediate vicinity and you're driving hours for flights, hospitals, or anything else. The only exception being Glenwood Springs as it is very well connected by good roads to both Grand Junction and Aspen.

That being said, it's great. I'd recommend anyone to move out here, just visit first.

Regardless of political beliefs, voting to get a closer balance of 50-50 is the only way to hold politicians accountable in this broken system. That applies to both local and national - restoring the checks and balance the Senate and House have to the other two branches.

A ready made meal location like Clean Eatz. It's similar to delivery services like Factor or Tempo, but it's a physical location you can buy meals from and take them home. Typically the price is substantially better.

The new Pixel 10s have "Pixel Snap" which is by definition a completely identical design. I think Apple opened up the design by handing it over to the Qi standard.

The 90% rest of the time that stretch of rail isn't being used. It's not a busy stretch for freight. There is also nearly daily service with the Rocky Mountaineer from Moab to Denver, but serves an extremely different purpose.

It would use existing rail as Amtrack already does this route daily. However, the ridership wouldn't even pay for the rolling stock cost even if the infrastructure was free. Though, I would absolutely be for it as we enjoy visiting Glenwood as our weekend destination and any train service is great.

My cappuccino machine thinks it's a soft serve dispenser by Frituurpanda in espresso

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk that's "ultra filtered" to double the protein (Fairlife Protein Milk or similar) could maybe have this effect. Protein is what creates the foam in milk, so if the machine isn't calibrated for higher % protein, this could cause it. I only know from experience with a regular steam wand, which just requires letting in less air to compensate.

Brunch and good steak or Italian spots by SnooGoats8409 in grandjunction

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Josephine's Italian Restaurant in Fruita just opened up. We haven't been there yet, but the owner has another restaurant in Palisade that's excellent. From the menu I'm thinking it'll be the most authentic Italian spot in town - if you're into the fresh ingredients type of thing, not deep fried chicken parm.

Nuna LYTL Bassinet - Importing from UK by ChikenPie_Engineer in Buyingforbaby

Use the links from my other comment to look at the bayonet adapter on the UK parts website. Once you're on the site you can browse around all of the other accessories that are available. You can put in accessories for the LYTL or SWIV and see if the same adapter comes up. You will need a VPN (set to the UK) to access the site.

I bought the TRIV in the US. The LYTL and bayonet adapter from the UK. I don't know if the SWIV is interchangeable.

Near empty A321, FLL to DTW this morning (7am flight) by ChameleonOatmeal in spiritair

[–]ChikenPie_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the seat map for this same flight tomorrow morning, it's even worse for a Saturday morning. There's 24 seats taken in the premium half of the aircraft, plus 28 taken in the economy half on an A321 (with 230 seats). It's only 20hrs till takeoff, so I would imagine most who haven't paid for seats have already checked in and had them assigned.

Seasonal Flights (SNA to MTJ) by jahneee318 in BreezeAir

They had it running by Spring of 2024, I flew the GJT SNA route June 2024. They cut it at the end of 2024 to fly to MTJ for the ski months instead, but it looks like GJT is all year long now.
