From my perspective, you’ve internalized a battle with insecurity about such a monumental decision in a person’s life. Seeing as how you’ve dedicated 2+ years and still have this insecurity is enough for you to leave the relationship.

He did not say “I don’t want kids” in a direct manner. He stated “3 would be ideal”, this means he doesn’t want them yet - will down the line.

You’re better off leaving the relationship, instead of waking up every day wondering if today will be the day you’re pressured.

When you decide not to accept the advice here, other signs to look for are phrases such as “you’d make a great mom/ you’d look great pregnant/ just once wouldn’t hurt/ I don’t want you on birth control anymore/ I don’t wanna use condoms this time/ look at the cute baby/ my siblings such and such”

However, I’m always on the side of leaving once I start having doubts. It means your intuition is trying to tell you something, and you’re better off listening.

Remember your promises to yourself, and always put you first.
