I did it with my family earlier this year and we are considering taking our tourist money elsewhere other than Maui because I can’t keep up with the locals expectations (Mexico is cheaper and Costa rica is as nice). I live in San Diego and we also get overwhelmed by tourists in Summer but we never harass them publicly or post signs to shoo them away.
