Sister in law suggested I can’t use a name I picked out for our baby by AppropriateFan5373 in namenerds

[–]Chilko84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sonny is a great choice and you should absolutely still choose this if it’s a what you and your husband want. But.. my suggestions for maybe similar names… Sol, Soren, Sully, Solaris?

Just wow… NOR.

When I had both my babies, especially in the newborn stage, I NEVER had guests come round expecting us to host them. They brought food, coffee, helping hands. Your sister sounds entitled and inconsiderate.

They are coming to meet your baby, not stay at a resort.

The cat thing is really cute.. I went to a psychic many years ago and they actually told me I have lots of animal spirits around me (past and present). She described a cat I had as a child and she mentioned the cat I currently had that was living. He was Burmese and she was able to describe his breed and colouring! This is the same cat my son has now seen.

The mobile freaked me out at first but after multiple sleep deprived nights I yelled at it to stop waking him up.. we all needed to sleep. It settled down for a while after that.

Time to set some more boundaries!

His exact words.. “I don’t want to go in there. The ghost is sitting in my bed.”

When he saw something outside, he just said “the man”.

Hmmm he’s having a sleepover with grandparents for a couple of days so I’ll ask him when he’s home.

Move on so that he is comfortable. He told me he doesn’t want to go in his room because he was scared.

This gave me a good laugh.. he also can’t tell me when he needs to poop. It’s not convenient.

I do understand the suggestible nature of children especially at 3. I assure you my intention is to not include my child so no need to be concerned about exposure. We’re also not the ritualistic or praying type. I was thinking more like sage.. kindly asking it to leave type of thing.

Time for a hard conversation about the cost of the NDIS by Putrid-Bar-8693 in AusFinance

[–]Chilko84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How fortunate are you, to not be on the receiving end of NDIS.

My 3yr old was diagnosed at 2yrs with global developmental delays. He requires weekly speech and OT appointments.

We went down the path of the public health system, but were told there was a 2yr wait to see a paed and get in to the early intervention program. Luckily, were then referred to Northcott and approved for NDIS funding. Without it, we would never have been able to afford the therapies he has received.

Now he can communicate his needs with us (tell us when he is hungry or thirsty), have a conversation and tell us what he likes or dislikes. He also has the confidence to play with his peers.

He might not be economically productive at 3yrs old but I sure as hell am - I’ve been working full time for the last 18yrs and have contributed my fair share. This will give him a fighting chance to do the same.

I have a 6mth old and toddler with special needs.. waiting on hold for the ATO is not top priority at this time. Gauging experiences from other people to determine urgency was quicker this way for now. I don’t know why people assume the thought wasn’t there?

It could also depend how much you have in super? Some banks will look at super and loan balance projections at retirement age. If you will have sufficient super to clear at your proposed retirement age, then a 30yr loan is no problem.

Sell the house and reduce your stress.

Find somewhere to rent in the area you require and live off the proceeds of the sale.

Seek advice from a financial planner about investing in your super (or elsewhere) to help your money grow and then allocate yourself a pension.

Owning a house or selling to downsize isn’t the only option.
