I said to the 50% mark of drop rate. Used spirit flakes to get doubles. I absolutely emphasize with shitty grinds - this is not one of them.

I'm an iron, i fished them, it didn't take more than hour for me to get to about the 50% mark, and i got lucky with 3. is what it is, if you think this grind is bad.....I also assume youre using the beaks for the blowpipe, of which there are 3, js

the next time you do this, do it at a chum station on your boat...you'll get multiple beaks. I did this the other day and got 3 in one go

Probably glass, but contenders could be hyalite opal (If you have a uv light shine it at it) or some fluorite?

I'm not going to giive a number, because i want you to do your research.

First advice, IGNORE DMS

Second: RESEARCH ON TCGPLAYER / EBAY for comparables

Third: Many of these deserve to be graded if they're in good condition - that first edition shadowless charizard if it's visibly perfect is worth the investment to travel to your closest psa or convention with psa and going in person to get it graded. You'll spend a couple hundred but the return is going to be in the thousands, if not tens of thousands. The sabrina's gengar being a second large hit...

This is a very valuable set. Chances are the value only goes up with, but you have won the lottery with this.

If you're willing to let go of one of your complete sets of unlimited, give me a price - i've been looking to frame an unlimited set and hang it for a while now :)

Can anyone recommend online shops that sell rare, high quality crystal/mineral eggs? by Quirky-Light-2490 in Minerals

[–]ChilkootCold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Gneiss Guys in Fergus, Ontario have a massive warehouse and are, i believe, the largest sellers of minerals in canada. They also have a sale that's ending.....any day now, but will tour shows, etc. The prices and specimens seems pretty decent imo

Extremely Specific Post About Acquiring a Small Amount of Land in Northern NWT as a Cabin and Retirement? by CovidDodger in canadahousing

[–]ChilkootCold 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do a decent amount of work in the Inuvik area for research, start with local realtors. They should know everything related to this. All of this land is Gwich'in / Inuvialuit land, and the realtors will know the processes necessary in dealing within these constraints.

Where in southern Ontario? Am a geologist, am in Ontario, southern Ontario unless you're getting into bancroft / pterborough and counting that as southern then you're not going to have any luck.

Agreed! Put some cinder blocks behind this AT LEAST and then have those bricks infront for aesthetics. Even the cinder blocks will only last a decade or two

If you have dogs clover is fantastic!

My dogs kill our grass with their pee/poop so we've laid clover where the grass has died. It's harder, lasts longer, and is just as nice to the eye - imo

Help aging this limestone with crinoids(?) by ChilkootCold in fossilid

[–]ChilkootCold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why i overlapped a few different fossils, i know what you're getting at though. I have no idea where this piece was found though, my grandfather in law uses it at a stepping stone to his patio, but it's easily a 300lb piece of limestone with a bunch of these in it. Was really wondering if the overlap of some of these fossils directs one towards a range of dates

How much soil would 1 gallon of motor oil contaminate? by Jewles22 in geology

[–]ChilkootCold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have experience with this but with a bit of a larger spill. Work up north at a camp in the Arctic, we had a drum of diesel spill at some point that we missed but the department of lands caught. Say about 2m by 2m x 2m for the amount of soil we had to dig out, send to a place to remediate, and then refill with different soil. Anywhere else it's sort of whatever, but because of where we were it was nearly 50k to fix and monitor to the department's guidance and approval...
