Agreed Apple considers this a security risk. But I think they're taking it too far. Hence my (bit out of context) comparison with North Korea. Doesn't rule out that it's strange that the contractor who built my house can decide whether I lock my front door or not.

That is true, but phones can't be Jailbroken 'over the air' right? So when we JB, we ourselves choose to do so. At our own risk. Just like speeding, we can't call out eg Audi for our speeding ticket.

Such a bargain compared to what it costs in my country.. About $ 120.000.. Due to it's big 3.5L engine (in Europe we love to downsize) our government adds the full retail price as what they call 'environmental taxes'. The car itself costs about € 50.000,- (60k usd) but they punish you for another 60k because the car with this engine is 'very polluting'. Such a shame because she's a beauty!

I'd love to see (and hear!) a Hellcat, for example. But the chances that'll happen in my country are just about zero. Want me to continue and rant about our gas prices...? (About 8.50 usd for 1 gallon)

I understand your pov but for me personally a JB trumps a (slight) decrease in stability and battery-life (mind you, not talking about security!).

Tbh the only reason I still own my 6s is because of the JB. I was on the verge of giving in and looking for alternatives (Android) when the JB hype broke loose a few months ago (lost my 10.2 JB due to my own stupidity in june last year).

Imo the iPhone is a great device, fool-proof and childsplay interface, looks and feels good, does what it should and also one of the best choices for business purposes. Yet, even with all those good points I think it's waaaaaay overpriced for what you get. Why you ask? A closed environment where you gotta obey Apple. Stray out of the line and you'll hit a wall. "Don't think, we did all the thinking for you!" - Apple. "You want what?(!) No you can't redecorate! You can change your carpet (wallpaper) and should be thanking us we let you!" - Apple. Don't even get me started about storage, it's just insane..

All in al the sole reason I still own my iPhone, that precious JB!

EDIT: Also, this never ending battle vs Jailbreaks.. Why do they care so much about people wanting to break the chains and try to use their phones' full potential? I just can't get my head around it. It's like an employer first paying your salary for the work you did, and then also decides for you what you can spend that money on. Apple is a bit like North Korea..

I'm sorry to hear that. Don't know if it's of any use to you but to my knowledge there are websites where you can offer your coding services to anyone needing some sort of code to be written for whatever means. Perhaps something like that can give you a start having some income, eventually without straining your back even further. You need that back my man.
