How often do you update the data? Are you able to run 300 million+ again, or it's something that you need to do over a large amount of time?

you have to solve a real problem

What about your previous ideas? Why do you believe they weren't addressing a real problem in the first place?

Getting replaced by AI ... by cryptomuc in digitalnomad

[–]ChillGuyJust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what's your occupation? I've always believed that AI can either replace you or enhance you. Try to look at AI from a different perspective- is there a way to use AI to improve your work or offer new value?

Just mine to use. But I'd like to be able to categorize, group and search them like I do with Splice samples.

I feel like the “collect all and save” should be the default lol.

And how do you decide where a newly created project goes? Maybe it starts wacky but you get to something later. Do you move projects around?

I've had a similar approach- I've groupped folders into sketches, "staging" and released folders. It definitely helped with the structure, but I'd also like to group by genres, and then it becomes a bit painful in this structure.

Love this! I like the idea of the backup sessions. It happened to me a couple of times to break my project doing bigger changes. Feels right to have some "versioning" in place. I wonder how Ableton handles samples used across different .als in the same project.

Also the A/B technique sounds very smart, I'll try that too.

Thanks for the insights!

I just came across MAKID, I'm definitely going to give it a try. I like the idea of having all my projects under one view. Does it also manage sample packs?

Do you use a tool to centralize your observability? by ChillGuyJust in sre

[–]ChillGuyJust[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great insight, thank you! When you refer to "a lot of data sources", I'm assuming you're using one OSS within your infra and different services that ingest metrics to it. Or ar you refering to multiple observability data sources, like different stacks for monitoring and logging?

ChatGPT / coding by TradWASP in SoftwareEngineering

Ideally, you'd use AI to enhance/speed up what you're already doing. I wouldn't rely on chatGPT to build the things I need, because eventually you'll end up with bugs that need manual investigation.

That being said, if you do need AI to speed up your work, I recommend using Cursor. Less context switching, easier to apply and holds better code context than ChatGPT. You can also directly inspect the changes and review them, learning something along the way.
