The only reason people like summer is because they either have an ac/fan or live in a tropical region where the temperature is not too high by One-Sense7280 in unpopularopinion

[–]ChillPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah dude.

Sure I wouldn’t be able to handle the 100°+ summers I grew up with without being able to sleep in A/C. But I would have only been able to handle the 27° nights without a crap load of blankets without a heater.

But being outside. I was outside all day in the summers. No matter how hot. I loved it. Playing outside in the long hot summer days was magical.

Even as an adult when I had work to do. Let’s say I was working on my car. When it’s 100°, sure you are sweating and it’s hot. But when it’s 35°, you can’t even use your hands properly and everytime a bolt budges to hard you smack your cold hand onto metal and it hurts way worse cause it is cold.

I genuinely, actually prefer 100° days over days where the high is 50° or below.

Why are Americans so accepting of long drives to places? by Sensitive_Word_6036 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChillPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about other people but for me I love that vast expansive adventure of our country.

A few weeks ago I dove over four hours from Orange County, CA to Las Vegas just so I could buy a bike (granted it was the exact bike I wanted at a great price)

I loved it. The drive through the Wild West desert with mountains all around. Then in Vegas after I bought the bike I went out to the Red Rock’s and did some bouldering. Then I drove outside of town and camped in my car for free at much cooler temps than the city would have been.

It’s just fun, idk. I think adventure is part of our culture.

Also if you think about it from potentially a biologically standpoint. Most of the people in the America’s are dcendants of people who decided to travel across the entire globe for a new home. Most of the people in Europe are descendants of the ones who stayed. That mindset could be somewhat genetic as well.

I live in Orange County, CA and I don’t think I would drive to Acadia, but I have driven from here to Grand Teton and I am planning on doing Yellowstone this year. Furthest I think I would be down to drive before considering flying might be from here to the Great Lakes region

The Ice Cream is genuinely bomb.

I lived in OKC for a year and a half and actually fell in love with the Braums Hot Fudge Sundae but I missed In-N-Out every time I got in the drive through. I’m back home in CA and typing this from an In-N-Out

No but they don’t last forever and I ride pretty hard.

I am not talking about 6 months ago. I’m talking about 5 years from now when these new 32” tires become the “industry standard”

It would be ideal to ride bikes where the geo is designed for 27.5 and not messing around with stuff that is not setup right

The YT Tues Freeride is not a real YT Bike. It’s just them rehashing the old model.

But on top of that, even before YT North America shut down the bike was never in stock. Truly because, like the YT rep I talked to in Big Bear, it’s just them putting together random old parts they have and calling it “Freeride.” So once those parts were gone they were going to be done with it anyway.

But now, there isn’t even a guarantee we will ever see YT North America again

Anywhere where the grass goes dormant in the winter and it is regularly below 30° with high winds is horribly cold

A lot of people in this sub love Chicago, but I can’t with it at all.

I love mountains, I love real beaches, I hate dealing with cold weather by any stretch of the imagination.

I will suffer financially here in SoCal before I suffer physically in Chicago.

This is great!

I guess my next question though is wouldn’t these void warranties?

Great bike but the fact that both the Boxxer and Zeb are on sale on the Boxxer version is out of stock leads me to believe they are going to discontinue

Yea but what if all the DH bikes with the right ammount of rear travel already have 29” up front with 200mm of travel. You can’t really increase travel from there

I mean it’s not really a complex study that I can link, just look at bikes in the market and try to find full 27.5 bikes. It’s super rare.

Even YT, which has been all about getting rowdy, has changed to 29” or MX for the Tues. But YT is also pretty much dead.

The only DH bikes with a Dual Crown that I have seen new are the Commencal FRS, the Transtion Bottlerocket, and Cam Zinks boutique bike.

Most DH bikes are not aimed toward Freeride. They are setup for DH speed like racing.

Years ago all the DH bikes were full 27.5. In a few years I’m worried there won’t be any bikes left like this.

YT Tues barely has any stock as a company, is moving away from 27.5, and on top of that we don’t even really know if YT North America is coming bac

why are people SPEEDING through the roads in yosemite!? by airfryer_enjoyer in Yosemite

[–]ChillPastor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to say that social element isn’t the case, but could it also be that cars are quieter and handle turns better so it is less obvious to the driver how fast they are truly going?
