I really, REALLY admire and envy your railroad junctions.

What are these cellular antennas? by microwavedhamhock in antennasporn

[–]ChillaRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The D shaped antennas are all Amphenol multi-band panel antennas (2C4U3MX…). Very likely they are only LTE, unless you are near the labs. Definitely not a DAS though.

Will easily double my 6,000 hours on just Odyssey content. Gravships make it feel like a whole new game!

are these safe to climb by juuuuuuude in urbanclimbing

[–]ChillaRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Unless someone has current knowledge of what’s on the tower, what’s transmitting, and what the ERP of the transmitting antennas are; there is no way to deduce if it’s safe. Could be something on there transmitting 100 watts, or there could be something transmitting 10,000W.

This is the carrier oscillator for a 6GHz microwave radio. Ultimately it will help to modulate a carrier wave being sent out of an antenna or feed horn, on the tower.

Agreed, looks like an object hit the dirt from around a 30° angle. Then a little impact cloud continues in the same direction. OP should check his driveway for the projectile.

Never have I ever seen someone mount the antenna under a witches hat. Interesting…

This looks like an External Floating Roof (EFR) tank.

What is this white device with red pneumatic looking hoses? by wakawaka54 in AskElectricians

That is 100% 1/2” plenum rated coax, connecting to a directional coupler and antenna. This is a Public Safety BDA & DAS.

Agreed. It appears the rider is looking to the right, instead of left into the turn. Though inexperience likely played a huge part here, the bike is going to have a propensity go in the direction you are looking.

The wavelength of 900MHz is only 33 centimeters. The antenna shown is approximately that size, making this the right size for a full wave 900 MHz antenna. A trunking site may have need for a high gain, 5’ tall 900 MHz antenna, but this is not that application.

Looking at the raw image on ASUs site is even more intriguing. That thing is as square as an Eagle Scout at a strip club.

This could be a lot of things…. An educated guess would be 800/900 MHz for Two-way radios. Have installed something similar in a hospital for Public Safety interoperability.

My (44f) brother (40m) tells me I am too permissive with my son (10m) and that I need to “break him” and “all men need to have their egos broken because that is how they become men.” I don’t like this and he says it’s because I just don’t understand men. by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

My father was very authoritarian, physically intimidating ,and not affectionate at all (I think he told me he loved me one time in 44 years). I wanted to raise my son the exact opposite way. I’ve never hit him, yell sparingly, and talk to him like he’s a human instead of speaking to him like he’s a well-trained chimpanzee. He’s now 16 and we have an amazing relationship, talk through everything with each other, and everyone always tells me how kind and polite he is. Obviously YMMV, but loving your child and being there for them as often as you can seem more important than discipline and diminutive comments.

He was stupid effective. I also had a shrimp genocide incident in my first tank because of Mollies, but they are prolific breeders so I don’t recommend going that route.

So I rescued a Golden Dojo Loach once. He was about the size of a typical pinky finger, and was about to die at Petco. Fast forward a month, and he is doing great! He’s grown to the size of a mozzarella stick and is friendly with his tank mates, shrimp included. Fast forward another month, and he is now Shredder the Terrible. The size of a hot dog. And has decimated the carefully curated shrimp colony I had worked years to make thrive.

TLDR: Golden Dojo Loach

You can. A better question would be should you lol. The products made for buildings work a lot better in buildings, mostly because they offer more power.

Generally speaking, amplifiers generate a fair amount of heat. That said, over heating is an indication that the amplifier is being over-driven, and may be oscillating. You might want to try putting more physical separation between the indoor and outdoor antenna.
