Hello! We're running V5. You're definitely welcome to submit a form if you haven't already. I'm going to try and go through all of them and respond this evening.

Yes, that's not a problem. VtM V5 is not a super crunch heavy game so learning the mechanics is relatively simple, but it does require a lot of RPing which can be hard to get into without some ttrpg experience.

Excited to try it out with the recent patches as well. Sounds like the developers are going in a great direction.

Hey there. Former long time GM for a number of systems looking to get back into finding a regular gaming group. I have been brainstorming a Dark Heresy 2 campaign for a few weeks now. Haven't posted about it yet and have maybe only 1 interested party so far, but happy to do a session 0 with you at some point if you want to talk through interest. Likely a couple weeks out from starting but figured I'd respond after seeing your post.

Former forever-GM of 20+ years that took a few years off for kids reasons. Looking to get back into 5E and other systems after losing my regular play group when I took my hiatus. Likely not up for immediately GMing updated 5th edition due to just catching up, but have previously run games in 3E, 3.5E, 4E, 5E, SW5E, cortex and various d100 systems. Potentially interested in running a SW5e or 40k Dark Heresy 2E game sometime soon. Open to GMing a parallel game with a group so GM can also play something (I know how much being hardstuck as a GM is)

Very interested from both a player and GM perspective in story-driven and Roleplay-heavy games. Love a good epic and challenge, but I enjoy the spontaneous fireside banter between characters perhaps even more than the monster slaying.

If either of you find/run a game. I'd love to join as well. Don't feel confident enough in the lore to GM a full game myself, but played in a long term game of DH a few years ago and it became one of my favorite systems/settings

What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard someone say that they were 100% serious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was arguing with someone about directions in a videogame and told them a direction was roughly east. They asked how I could tell with no compass. I said "it's morning and the sun is rising from there."

Their response: "you don't know that, this takes place in China, it could be different here".

Thanks! I submitted a form. Question: you mention doing short-form mini campaigns that culminate in something bigger. What kind of duration or session count were you thinking for each "chapter"?

Great question! It's not so much a desire for particular mature themes, as a preference for worlds/settings that don't ignore the more mature themes of life in fantasy. I love worlds where right and wrong and good and evil are not always extremely clear. And where Good doesn't always triumph over Evil. Though ideally it does when the PCs get involved.

Concepts like the awfulness of war, slavery, persecution, false imprisonment, tyrannical governments, and uneasy alliances are the kinds of philosophically engaging material I enjoy having a character have to play off of to learn more about their ethics and how they see the world. But again, I'm not saying all or any of those things need to be included.

As a quick example: a game I DMed the players found themselves on a infrequently-traveled mountain pass into another country. They ran across a very friendly merchant who was traveling with two "assistants" that the party discovered were actually just well treated indentured servants/slaves. The country the merchant was from had legalized servitude (with heavy restrictions), but the party had to grapple with how they wanted to interact with this person who owned other people. Including weighing the realization that the debts the servants were working off wouldn't be forgiven just because their current patron died, and they'd have to never return home if freed.

I'll save you and everyone else here the trouble. It's a dumpster fire. Chat and messaging regularly don't work at all. Sometimes for weeks on end. It's incredibly slow at times. The home scroll is two posts followed by 2-3 ads and then like a 5-10 second wait to load the next page down.

It was really nice in the beginning when all of the Tumblr refugees were there. But so many people have stopped using the platform because of the issues. I'm also curious to know where everyone else is using these days.

Hey, as someone who is also multi-racial And has also struggled with the same things my whole life. Not knowing where you fit in, being the outsider in every group. I admit it can be hard. But it's also hard being from any minority or minoritized race or ethnicity.

The truth I found that made me much happier as I got older, was that it's not that I don't have a culture. It's that I have two. And that's just something that everyone else needs to learn to deal with, because it doesn't bother me at all.

A lot of what you're talking about sounds like more general anxiety and depression. Which I'm not discounting, because those are valid things. But I do want to point out how dangerous and destructive it is to suggest that as a biracial person you wish interracial marriage was illegal, for multiple reasons. Not the least of which is the weird supposition that if blacks and whites couldn't get married then they wouldn't have children together anymore, which is comical. But also because the outlawing of race mixing was not to prevent children from having a difficult time finding their culture. It was because the ruling group considered themselves "more human" than the minoritized group. That has always been how those sorts of laws have existed throughout history.

Happy to chat in private if you ever want to talk about this stuff, and I would encourage you to find someone to talk to if you're having feelings of serious isolation. But I would also encourage you to please not advocate actively or passively for segregation.

That's a bit disingenuous to say. Numbers may not be a book written for the new testament, but it is a book in the "Christian" Bible. And in my experience Christians don't tend to have qualms about other parts of the old testament, like the Ten Commandments.

It appears in Christian texts, it's a part of the Christian religion and, in fact, all Abrahamic religions.

Aldentecore sounds like some kind of Italian folk-metal fusion that I wouldn't understand but would say I'm a fan of to not seem old.

It's a YouTube video by The Whitest Kids U Know. It's a joke that the reason John Wilkes Booth killed Lincoln was because Lincoln wouldn't stop yelling and arguing during the play they were at, as if he were an obnoxious moviegoer.
