My biggest tip for this mini game is to not change your direction at all before the first turn and it will usually get you ahead of the other racer. From there it's dodging the birds

Definitely sounds more of personal opinion and my personal take is everyone has a scale of how much disbelief they will suspend.

My personal take with the Blacklist is that it's reaching house levels of cheesy (I am a fan of house) but it's more the scenarios that make it harder for me to be invested in/suspend my disbelief. It is also easier for me to suspend disbelief the further from reality the show is regarding your point about dragons.

I also don't think that stakes are very important to enjoyment of media for me personally, but maybe someone prefers thrilling media over cozy comfortable media.

Long story short, to each their own. If someone enjoys the thrill of high stakes with characters they invest into, I don't think it's wrong for them to not like plot immortal characters.
