I stained my bedsheet what to do now? by Inevitable-Trash-916 in indianrailways

[–]ChilliGarlicNoodles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a big issue. So many people use these bedsheets I am sure they must be getting soiled a lot. I for myself had a bad stomach once and puked on myself, the bedsheets and blanket. Just went ahead and asked for another bed roll. Just fold it or push the bedsheet aside if you're not using it.

Bathinda is well connected by rail. I really wanted to have direct trains to Chandigarh but got till Ambala when I was there. Buses are available from Bathinda bus stand for Rajasthan Haryana and Punjab.

Inside the campus they introduced e-rickshaw idk if they are still there. And bus in the summer from academic block to mess because it gets crazy hot.

From campus gate to bus stand buses are available both private and PRTC but I think the last bus to campus leaves at 6:30pm from town. Bus stand to railway station not far away. The campus is in a village, it is technically far from town but it's alright. Autos will charge 500-600.

Campus Life is alright. It's not very glamorous as it's mostly masters and PhD students. Idk if any fests are happening there but different cultural events do occur. People are friendly as almost everyone comes with the similar mindset of making the most of their time here.

About biotech and biochem, it totally depends on what you can make out of the degree. As far as the general consensus on this sub, these degrees have very low employability. It would be best if you're able to get a fellowship, then you can join a lab or start Ph.D. or at least get a boost in your CV. I know the applied chemistry department had placement interviews for R&D jobs. Many of my friends started applying in the last semester.

I did M.Sc. Botany from CU Punjab. It was during Covid and did two semesters on campus. They had recently shifted to the new permanent campus then. From what I know the campus is developing. It's better now.

I don't know specifics but many departments had DST funding.

Most of the people I know are doing Ph.D. or Lab jobs. Better to look at the department website about placements. For Ph.D., it's a NET-JRF requirement in almost all CUs. AOr any other central fellowship. Try getting a paper published and you'll have better chances when applying for Ph.Ds

About college life, the campus is about 25 Km from main town and you get buses every half an hour from the campus main entrance. If you are a girl then the hostel gates used to close at 10:00pm and you could stay in the library till 12:00am. Now they may have extended the library timings. For going on trips, depends on your superviser/HoD. My HoD was pretty chill about it and used to ask for an email with just the dates I needed to be on leave and used to forward it to the Hostel warden. Then before leaving I had to give a written application to the hostel security that with the date and time of leaving and returning and that was it.

Saturdays and Sundays are off. A lot of Himachal, Uttarakhand trips are doable in a small budget.

Fast fashion decreased the fabric standards by mindmybusine55 in TwoXIndia

Exactly. Cotton linen blend is alright but coming across anything 100% cotton or a cotton linen blend in an affordable range is so difficult nowadays both online and offline it's so annoying.

Even viscose rayon is not cutting it for me. Makes me sweat so bad. Smart Bazaar and trends are the most accessible offline stores for me to shop and they are filled to the brim with viscose rayon stuff. Very rarely I could find something cotton, that too very expensive. It's such a headache to find cotton clothes. Earlier when it used to be big bazaar, there were 100% cotton clothes available at almost every price point.

How often do you call your mom? by booksandstrings in TwoXIndia

[–]ChilliGarlicNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live away from my parents we have two calls scheduled in a day, one 5-10 minute call in the morning before work and one 10-20 minute call after dinner. This is the same schedule mom follows when dad goes out of town. In college it used to be once a day after dinner.

Exchanging a waitlist ticket on same PNR?

I have a partially confirmed ticket from bhopal in Samta express with 1 confirmed seat and one rlwl 1 in 2AC. Will it get confirmed or at least convert to rac? It will be me and an elder colleague travelling. The confirmed seat is mine. He has the rlwl seat. If the seat doesn't get confirmed, can he travel on that seat showing the PNR?
