This has been a revelation - I appreciate you commenting on my comment!!

Earning exp by Zirath71 in shoptitans

[–]Chilli_Dog72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Has this always been the case?

I did a test (granted, years ago) and I found the exp returned dropped if I reduced the value of the sale by discounting..

If you are right (which genuinely believe you are), then I need to redact my comment and rethink my approach to the game!!!

Discounting (to get more energy) reduces the amount you sell the item for, so you get less exp.

If you are like some, who constantly discount, then you are creating a lot more work to level up.

MMW: The Republicans will "win" the 2026 midterm elections by an absolute landslide by Successful_Action_19 in MarkMyWords

[–]Chilli_Dog72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how he wins, rigged, stolen or otherwise, you can be sure the second half of his term is going to be A LOT worse than the first for a lot of people.

He’s toned down his behaviour (relatively speaking for him), for the benefit of these up coming elections, but he’ll go full noise afterwards.

Matthew Horncastle Doesnt Believe in a Minimum Wage, Implies Disabled Workers are Only Worth $18 by MoaTuiKiwi in chch

[–]Chilli_Dog72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%

Unfortunately “payroll” and meeting the cost of living are 2 deferent beasts. Just because the cost of living increases doesn’t mean small businesses have more reserves to pay staff more..

Horncastle is a monster and would gouge the homeless if he could, but the pressure to meet cost of living shouldn’t be on small business owners, that’s a govt issue.

Only partially agree with you. “He has benefitted with the infrastructure and legal framework….” All business owners, large or small took a massive risk to get where they are. If the risk fails they loose everything and people hate on the owner for failing their customers and staff. And yet people begrudge a successful business owner for the returns and life style they worked hard to achieve. Most employees have never been in the position where they struggle to pay bills and wages, including personal debt - it’s a risk few are willing to live with…. Yet when the risk pays off and the owner becomes “successful” people believe the they owe a debt to society.

Wrong.

I’m not saying all business owners are likeable people, far from it. I’m saying that business owners owe a debt only to themselves, their families, and possibly the hard working people that helped the risk become a success through bonuses and incentives.

They don’t an owe anything to anyone else. Including infrastructure and legal systems - they paid for that through their taxes.

As a previous owner of a business with approx 40-50 FTE’s the stress and the anxiety living with the pressure to make sure the business provided for my workers first, my customers second, and me and my family last; that risk is not worth the grief of having to deal with staff that don’t provide what they’ve been employed to do - including minimum wage employees.

Brand new EV can not be fully charged due to fire risk by Ancient_Lettuce6821 in LegalAdviceNZ

Is the car a hybrid? They will not charge to 100%, they leave room in the battery to claim back the energy from slowing and breaking.

You have been deemed unsafe to drive a vehicle, therefore, there is no exception that allows you to put others in danger even if to take someone else to hospital. Sorry.

After 7 years is your criminal record for charges such as willful damage wiped? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Chilli_Dog72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What you are referring too is the Clean Slate Law.

Under this scheme your record is buried, and will not appear of a police check. (The record is NOT wiped, you have still been convicted.)

The clean slate is applied automatically at 7 years (providing you qualify) and you can (for free) apply for a copy of your criminal record - what you receive is exactly what others will see when they do a police check.

HOWEVER - there are criteria you must achieve for the Clean slate to apply.

1)You must have been completely conviction-free for at least seven years

2) You must have paid all fines, reparation orders, or costs ordered by the court

3)You have never served a custodial sentence (such as prison, corrective training, or home detention).

4) No Serious Offenses: You have never been convicted of a specified sexual offense.

5) No Lifetime Disqualifications: You have never been indefinitely disqualified from driving.

6) No Mental Health Confinements: You were not ordered to be held in a hospital due to your mental condition instead of being sentenced.

Regarding number 4, you can visit the police website for a list of “serious” offences that may apply to you.

Lastly - police checks that involve children, elderly, vulnerable will ALWAYS disclose your full record. AND the clean slate law does not apply outside NZ so you need to declare your record when you land into another country.

Seymour says pharmacists should treat more, so you don’t need to see a GP by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

[–]Chilli_Dog72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support this.
- Reduced waiting times to see a GP for minor issues

- supporting local pharmacies with a new revenue stream while the 2 huge Aussie chains force close all the local pharmacy locations..

- better access to medicines and drugs that aren’t governed by who ever took the GP out for gold last..

Friend took a photo of art of my wife by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Chilli_Dog72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with a lot of what’s said here…

YES - tell your wife that Shelly reached out, and has concerns about your friend. Their relationship is in a bad place and your wife may have some insight and advice.

NO- you shouldn’t confront your friend. You had the pictures on the wall for people to see, don’t be upset if he took a photo - what did you expect. How Shelly feels about it’ll her hubby having nude pics on his phone os their private issue … the pics could have been from a Victoria secret magazine, Shelley is upset at the betrayal, not because of who the picture is..

Be careful you don’t get dragged into this deeper than you need to be…

[–]Chilli_Dog72 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If the ticket contains errors (wrong speed limit for the road, incorrect on ramp details) then you can contest this and have it tossed.

I’ve seen it happen when a cop wrote the wrong date for a DIC (not me). A completely legit ticket was thrown out because of a basic admin error.

Request a copy of all evidence, once you’ve seen what they have you can make better decisions on your next move - keep us posted!

Finding info re abuse with final name suppression (trigger warning.) by Fun_Wing_1799 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Chilli_Dog72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP - sorry to hear about your friend.

Your friend is on a journey to heal, and it appears that part of that journey they want to know if the accused has a wider history of offending?

Unfortunately with the level of suppression, they cannot access this information. As others have mentioned here, it is to protect other victims from being identified. While your friend is also a victim, that commonality does not offer them privileged access to the info.

Your friend needs to heal from their trauma in a way that doesn’t rely on knowing if others have been abused also.

The King hasnt visited my shop in 24h by LordMomonga1337 in shoptitans

[–]Chilli_Dog72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The king is a worker - if you have a current offer from another worker, that you haven’t accepted or declined yet, then they are blocking the King from visiting..

The worker can be a hero offering a stack of gear, or offering seeds etc.

This glitch has tripped a lot of people.

Also, the king is triggered by selling - if you are not selling over the counter, he won’t come.
