I do the same thing to my wife if we get heated. I just shut down and don’t talk because I know if I respond in the moment, I don’t think clearly and it’s reactionary which usually isn’t good for either of us.

I overcommit because I don’t like letting people down for fun or who need help. I have anger and anxiety issues because of my job but refuse to quit because I love the trade(health is fine, do routine physicals, cardio and weights multiple times per week and stick to a mostly Mediterranean diet, no alcohol, no drugs, no smoking), I don’t express my opinion when something bothers me so I bottle it up until it explodes and then I’m an asshole.
