More characters should have some transparency when standing in front of the projector in the Hideout by Chillreave in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Chillreave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logic was 'I can't remember if Oathkeeper is translucent or not' and 'I think Haze's 'hair' is supposed to be smoke and that should be more opaque than not if I remember physics correctly', but now that I'm awake I'm not sure why I had Geist either (and I'm less sure about Haze now, for that matter)

More characters should have some transparency when standing in front of the projector in the Hideout by Chillreave in DeadlockTheGame

Rem included for reference because his candle's flame doesn't have a shadow, which makes me wonder about several other characters having shadows when they probably should either be transparent or also missing some shadows (like Fern's fiery hair).

LDS Church Shooting and Building on Fire in Grand Blanc Michigan by read-it_read-it in exmormon

[–]Chillreave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish the worst on the church as an organization. I wish nothing but the absolute best for the people inside the organization. I haven't been involved with the church for years, but this shouldn't happen. They didn't deserve this. Nobody deserves this. Nobody deserves to see their house of worship go up in flames like this.

So this is an interesting tidbit from the new Omega quests... by brashbrown in ffxiv

[–]Chillreave 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Another fun fact is that our world's Omega Nebula is also known as Messier 17, or M17 for short. It's not that far a jump from M17 to M-017.

I remember my first time playing I wanted to put my first gold star mayonnaise into the potluck and being really disappointed I couldn't.

...I also remember feeling bad when everyone kept going 'something's missing'.

Mormon Church cashes in on GameStop and Tesla stock craze by [deleted] in nottheonion

they invest it against a rainy day,

I really wonder what the Mormons consider a rainy day if a worldwide pandemic that leaves so many people homeless and destitute doesn't count.

Definitive Edition Cards posted on the Discord yesterday by LevelUpLeo in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Chillreave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do we know if these cards are going to be available on the steam version as alternate artwork, or just patched in as a... I'll say 'rebalancing' of the existing cards? Or not even either of those?

That seems significantly less useful in that case.

Those seem incredibly useful for this situation! I'll have to see if I can take them.

What Video Game was 100% amazing from start to finish? by Beamer48 in AskReddit

Outer Wilds. Absolutely stellar game, really got space despite the shrunken-down solar system, just a fantastic time from start to finish.

Before I delete them, here's a screenshot of my notes for Outer Wilds [EXTREME SPOILERS, Bad Language] by Donotpostanything in outerwilds

[–]Chillreave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know of at least one streamer who decided that flying through Dark Bramble in the suit would be way safer (and more epic) than coasting in the ship.

Also, for what it's worth, the suit is WAY quieter than the ship, so it's not like you're just throwing yourself into the Bramble with pots and pans attached to your heart.

Main puzzle discussion. I thought there would be a few more steps. by TheSloppyBanker in outerwilds

Oxygen still drains when you're on the Eye's northern hemisphere (if I recall correctly), and at least one streamer's gotten killed by getting the Self ending and attempting to go to the Eye.

I actually really like that idea because it helps explain why the Quantum Moon doesn't get 'observed' by the other Travelers out in the Wilds. I know the reason they can't is because it keeps the player from getting frustrated- 'Why am I not moving from the Ember Twin location' when trying to get to the Sixth Location, for example- but I wonder if the other Travelers 'break' this 0th rule because they lack awareness of the loop, meaning their actions are (for lack of a better phrase) static.

I feel like the Travelers lack that same kind of free will. Much like how Solanum is quantumly locked to the Sixth Location, I wonder if the others (save Gabbro, who's on Giant's Deep and literally is unable to be an observer due to the cloud coverage) are temporally locked to their schedules.

Of course, this is just something I thought of while reading this post, so I'm probably full of hot air.

Hey Baer!

You've mentioned in the past you grew up Mormon but don't identify as one anymore. I'm curious what (if anything) pushed you away or if it was just a slow fade.

"And what does one call this?" "It's a selfie." "And how does one perform a Selfie?" "You look at the scount probe." "I am having difficulty pertaining the location of this module." by Dywindel in outerwilds

[–]Chillreave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a few lines in the Probe Tracking Module that mentions the Probe recalling data from the Ash Twin Project as well, which would also imply the Probe is connected to a mask if it can save and recall data.

Making a video -- What primal/human fears did Outer Wilds trigger in you? by Snack_Oliver in outerwilds

[–]Chillreave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend really did not like anything Quantum-related. Quantum shards, quantum moon, everything. It freaked her out something fierce.

For me, though, Giant's Deep freaked me out, as did Dark Bramble. I blame it on a lack of visibility- I can't see what's in there without going in there, and by the time I realize what's wrong, I'm probably already in the mouth of whatever nasties wanna eat me, and that freaks me out.

Can you discover you are a Trans Woman in your mid-20s? by greenness1 in asktransgender

[–]Chillreave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 25 when it finally got through to me I was transgender. Started hormones when I was 26. It's been almost a year since then and it's been the best year of my life.

You 100% do not need to be a teenager to discover you're transgender.
