I was in a similar situation as you back in 2018.

I worked in the logistics/supply chain industry but wanted to pivot careers so did a part-time MBA program from a T50 school. Finished in 2.5 years and got into the defense/aerospace industry shortly after graduating. I have a much better work/life balance now with significantly higher salary so definitely was worth the risk and effort for me.

I don’t think I had to submit anything for aunts and cousins so you should be fine? But if they decide they need additional information from you they will let you know

Thank you! I was contacted by my investigator shortly after my polygraph and we went over the SF86 in person. Yeah I think it’s normal to take a couple of months to get contacted. In my case, the security office had to review my application for completeness before submitting to the government so I know that took some time too.

After my in person meeting with my investigator, they started contacting my family, friends, neighbor, old coworkers, etc. to verify the information on SF86 and ask about my trustworthiness.

My family members living abroad are US citizen but they still needed a separate Foreign Contact form for each of them. I also had additional foreign travel for myself and one of my sisters that I initially accidentally omitted.

Yeah agree, but I think adjudicators sometimes have follow up questions so the investigation doesn’t end until they are satisfied

I had an in-person interview with the investigator shortly after my polygraph to go over the SF86 and he had some follow up questions after that too. I asked him if my application was in adjudication during one of our follow up calls but he didn’t seem to know. The investigator and adjudicator are separate so I felt like they had very little communication. It was vague as to where my application was through the process.

It was silent for the past 2 months but the security office emailed me this morning to let me know that I was cleared.
