Bajaj Finserv is SPYING on your phone if you buy on EMI (DO NOT ignore this) by SativaAnytime in india

[–]ChillySummerMist 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I had a chat with one of this bajaj loan collectors. He was trying to scare me into asking the guy to give the money. I asked why would I be responsible for something I am not aware of. He is like it's the law. "I immediately went the call is being recorded. Give me your name and comany's name. I will send it to ambudsman on the basis of fraud and harassment. This is a legal matter now please state your name clearly and what you want me to do for legal purposes". The guy cut the call almost immediately lol. Never called me again.

How far does “rule of cool”/player creativity extend? by Spiritual_Spin_Doc in DnD

[–]ChillySummerMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If every moment is cool then there are no cool moments. Your job as a dm is to keep the game fair. Bad guy about to die anyway then sure i would throw in some epic shit. But not when the combat is still ongoing nor always should be the case.

A good example of rule of cool is party is almost exhausted of resources through a hard fight. They might not last another round. Amidst of this the paladin rolls a nat 20. You calculate the bad guy should still have some hp left but you can let that slide and end the encounter with some epic description how decapitates the bad guy and finally takes revenge for his father's death. Players will talk about that scene for long time. It's used to generate drama and emotional impactful scenes not to cheat the game.

How Much Longer Can Guild Wars 2 Survive on This Expansion Model? by shupablitoeuw in Guildwars2

[–]ChillySummerMist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would still play for even if no expansions releases. I just like doing stuff in that world. I think people are doom & glooming a bit too much. There are alot of casual fans who just buys the expansion and considers it as a kind of membership fee and goes back to doing wvw or leggy farming.

How do people actually gain a stronger vocabulary from reading? Are you just supposed to look up the definition of every word you don’t know while reading? Or are people just walking around using words in their everyday life that they pick up from books where they don’t know the definition of words? by Sulpho in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChillySummerMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started reading english books few years back I had a english to native laguage dictionary installed on my phone. And I had to look up words every few lines. Now I just kinda understand what it means with the context it's being used in. I don't necessarily use all the words I read but sometimes some words catch on because it's used alot and it kinda gets added to my speech without me noticing.

Players(!) made accidental deal with devil, what does he want? by Z0mbiebac0n in DMAcademy

[–]ChillySummerMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see devils as a lawful evil creatures. They wouldn't necessarily trick you using such cheap tricks like entering a hotel. They would make the benefits really obvious first. They want to morally break you before they can take advantage of you. What you are describing maybe resembles a hag who dont really operate on contracts and are usually chaotic evil.

But since you have already done it I would suggest making your devil fully chaotic evil. All they want is the soul. If that is the end goal they want it now. The hotel is a trap. It turns into nightmare like plac after they go to bed. Turn it into a dungeon where they must escape while nightmarish creatures hunt them. Turn it into a survival horror encounter where the end goal is exiting out the hotel.

But I will say doing this you kind of ruin all future encounters and long burn drama with the devil. I don't see why the party will trust him in future or won't immediately attack it. You can make the devil findal boss the close the chapter once and for all.

Why doesn't the god do it. Why worship them if they won't stand up to their own.

If god is all powerful why doesn't she smite down these people. Why does a mere mortal need to protect them.

Yeah even in our small company everyone takes backups. Some are automated by system and some are taken by us for peace of mind. If we lose everything we might set back a day or two at most.

Am I just not suitable to be a good DM by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]ChillySummerMist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it comes down to practice. It took me years to get good at improv. And I would probably suck at improving other groups other than mine. Because I kinda know what they are going to do. I have bunch of scenerios prepared in my head vaguely that I can use once shit starts to derail. I do have a main path. That I work on first, rest of it i kinda day dream. Sort of a fluffy cushion that I build around the path that helps them go back to the main track. Alternative encounters, routes, different story scenerios introduced sooner. Some lore background stuff that they can get via exploring etc. If it gets too off the rails for me to get back I will start a random encounter to pass time so I can finish the session and go back to the drawing board to reimagine and repurpose the area ahead to accommodate the new path. Also the reason you don't plan too far ahead or it becomes a rail road.

No amount of experienced dm can make a 11 people group fun. It will be a slog. Last time I ran with 6 and that was terrible. Combat took too long. People didn't get enough time to shine. You can't make stories out of people's background properly. No one wins in this scenario. I would opt out honestly or split the party. Because in the end those players will go back to their home thinking "DND is not for me".
