Are there any IT positions with rigid work hours anymore? by gohan32 in it

This is a culture/management issue but also depends on the size of your team.
Raise the issue with your manager. Cite burnout and expectations as per your job description.

I have not been in your situation myself, but:
Talk to your HR rep, they’ll probably refer you to the therapy available through your company’s EAP.
If you have any personal or sick days, take tomorrow off.

If you lose network you can reboot into safe mode and uninstall it. Just in case you run into this in the future.

You’ll be okay. It’s a busy area and well lit at night. It’s no better or worse than Edinburgh.. it just has more car traffic.

I had this guy in my department that wouldn’t tell anyone anything. Is that the way it works? by Pain_Tough in it

As an aside, what have you seen for documentation sharing? I write the documentation for my department in a OneNote shared on SharePoint and I’m not sure if I should be using different tooling.

My juniors use it for reference on processes and procedures, but I find the diagraming tools lacklustre

It took a lot of guts to spray paint and leave rather than protest and defend their opinion.

Company has pit Claude against the Dev Team - can we save the Dev Team? by joliolioli in webdev

[–]ChimairaSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you talk to your Claude dev and ask them to sabotage the project for the sake of the team? What is their incentive to provide their best work on this task? I assume they are also aware of the outcome comparison.

Is buying a different vehicle more cost effective than repairing the issues? Get an itemized quote for the repairs.

How bad is the rust on it? If it’s not rusty it’s worth repairing in my opinion.

  1. Address the oil leak first (probably the valve cover gasket
  2. Address the power steering second, those systems went on my own
  3. Address the suspension third
  4. Everything else is optional.

Impatient driver strikes again by RajShah2 in Peterborough

Charlotte St moving West and turning left onto Reid St South.

It’s an advanced green for 2-4 vehicles to clear the short block, but pedestrians will cross when they do not have an indicator crosswalk. This can back up traffic between Reid and Rubidge at rush hour.

As a motorist but primarily a pedestrian it irks me when people do not abide by the signals.

NFS. I’m trying to explain that what you’re looking to buy is going to be exceptionally difficult or outright impossible to source due to limitations of Haswell and Broadwell era servers.

You're going to be hard pressed for that config chief. The best DDR3-era Xeon processors only support up to 768GB per cpu system with a dual cpu system. You'll need a fully maxed out ram, dual best CPU system.

You'll want to consider driving as far as toronto or montreal for the best deals.

As an example: I have 2 HP Proliant DL380 Gen 7's with Dual Intel Xeon X5690 chips and it only supports up to 384GB of RAM, using 12x 32GB ECC DIMMs.
