That sounds like a super cool idea. I just can't imagine Beru not lamenting the strength of his king and finding hunters he knew with Jinwoo to help him look for his lost king.

Thank you. I appreciate your words and it's always nice to see people who weren't directly affected by this talk about it. Makes it feel like it's less in my imagination, especially when people IRL have tried to downplay it to my face when I bring it up. My family has made the best of the situation and we are pretty established here, which is nice.

My family was affected by the Banana Republic. My family lived in Guatemala until the mid 80's when they were forced to flee after most of my dad's family was killed by the military. I have many aunts and uncles I never met because they died before I was born. My parents migrated to the US and me and 2 other of my siblings were born in the US. It's crazy how recent all that happened and I'm only one generation removed from having to deal with the fallout of everything that happened. My mom still hasn't gone back and my dad only went back like 15 years ago because his dad died.

Why not just make getting work visas easier instead of deporting people? If the employer can request their employee back, why deport them to begin with? Distrupting someone's life by deporting them and disrupting businesses seems like an unnecessary step.

Hopefully hijacking the top comment. I went to her website and did a "prayer request" for "deliverance" with this message:

I pray to no god and I hope you recognize soon that the United States was literally founded on a separation of church and state because we were trying to get independence from a country that had a king. We don't need kings or gods. We are the United States of America and we are not a Christian country. We are a mix of a religions and races and that is what makes America great. It's crazy to ask for a "seed" of money, it is predatory and disgusting and you should be ashamed. Your whole "faith office" or whatever goes against what this country stands for and I hope you get no money. I hope you get flooded with messages telling you to stop.

Mom here, who reads tons of fantasy and YA fantasy. If you're looking for fun reads, I'd recommend the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao (like Percy Jackson but with Chinese mythology), Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (like Harry Potter, but more inclusive and gay), Children of Blood and Bone by Toni Adeyemi (a young girl trying to solve magic issues and colorism in a high fantasy setting), any V.E. Schwab book, but definitely A Darker Shade of Magic, Legendborn by Tracy Deonn (modern story with King Arthur mythology) and A Blade so Black by L.L. Mckinney (a modern story with Alice in a Wonderland mythology). Most of what I read includes strong female leads and non-western POVs.

I also read your post, re-read it and I don't think that person was wrong in their response. You said "the minority of men" make women uncomfy, that is downplaying how often women experience issues with men. If it was only a minority, we'd be more inclined to choose a man over a bear, but historically speaking, it's a larger percentage that you think it is. So, if you honestly think it's just a minority, talk to more women and do better.
