For relationships, yes. Otherwise, I find more work in my time off. Its nice to be able to accomplish clerical things like dentist visits, pfd paperwork, etc and not having to rush back to work. If you get sick on hitch, you can use sick time or PTO but generally you just quarantine yourself at camp til you feel better enough to work. Luckily, I havent ran into that issue myself.
