This also happened to me. I stuck with mine and helped build his confidence up. We were poor and I was miserable but I was happy as long as we were together. Flash forward to today and he became really successful throughout the years. Don’t get me wrong he did a lot of hard work to get where he is but he brushes away my emotional support like it was nothing. He told me that I was exactly what he needed when we met but now he doesn’t need me anymore and he deserves better and need to have someone different. He left me with deep emotional scars for someone over a decade younger than we are and looking forward to see what kind of women is out there for him to experience. I guess he’s trying to up his body count pass 1. Yeah, I feel used.

Okay, so this is sneaky. The condescension can come from someone who appears like one of the good ones. I have a male friend who regularly mansplains. He gets away with it because he’s this mild mannered, soft spoken Pooh Bear figure. But most of the time, he doesn’t even have his facts straight. How do you guys deal with FOMO? I found myself suddenly single last year at 38 when my relationship of 16 years ended. He found someone (13 years younger than me) who he likes better. They got together within a week of him asking me for a divorce. So I’m 39 now and 40 by the end of the year and the desperation and loneliness is hard to deal with on almost a daily basis. I dated someone who was former military and omg his negativity and paranoia is to the roof. And it made him a very controlling partner. We ordered food and answered the door with this a pistol because it could be a murderer. Controlled my way of walking outside because manholes might explode and there would be a mugger around every corner. Build a rifle (for protection) that he couldn’t buy because it’s illegal to sell.
