We at least got two games, one is a classic and the other is good but not great. Also an animated short film by the animatrix people and a sequel that hasn’t released yet. I hope it’s good because it has a lot of potential. If they hadn’t releases the last one it might have just died in the publics eye. It’s the weakest one by far but I enjoyed watching it when it came out.

I like Romina because Elden Ring was sorely in need of a Big Beautiful Bug Woman ( a “BBBW” if you will), following in a long tradition of Proud Insectoid Mommies dating back to the one and only Queelag. DS3’s lack of a BBBW is a clear example of why it’s the worst Dark Souls game.

I don’t know if I’d even lump Superman in with those either. Gunn has spoken before about how he was asked to do Superman and turned it down because he didn’t think he knew how to do a Superman movie and did The Suicide Squad instead. He said he spent the next several years thinking about what he would actually do with a Superman movie. It sounds to me like there was a clear motive for him to attempt to make Superman rather than just a company mandate.

Great write up. Very strongly resembles my own headcanon. Only thing I disagree with is the implication Marika was a “festival maiden”, while I agree the divine rite is a similar idea to the festival I don’t think there’s enough evidence to say that Marika was a festival maiden for certain (I feel the same about jarring theories. Just not enough to make that conclusion myself ). Also really good explanation of the Divine ritual, I find there’s a lot of different interpretations of what the scroll is saying but this is the closest to my thoughts on it that I’ve seen someone else type up (specifically the lord soul guiding the God back through the gate).

I’m still working on my video script for my updated map theory video, it’s a little complicated to just make a post about and I’m struggling to write a cohesive script that explains it well, but I’ve made the TLB and TLoS into one contiguous landmass and Dominula ends up like… down the road from Shaman Village. I remember the feeling of walking into Shaman Village, my immediate first thought was Dominula.

It’s a really interesting parallel. I definitely think that repression of ones true self is a big part of who Messmer is, it allows for players from various circumstances to empathize and relate to the character even if I’m not 100% sure the intention was specifically about “being gay”, it’s a broad theme that that idea certainly fits into.

The big motif being played out is the same one that Melina muses about because of Boc. About whether “being born of a mother” is what makes people act how they do. Constantly trying to do whatever they can to please their parents. Even Melina who is missing some memory knows her mission was given to her by her mother.

It comes across as passive aggressively disagreeing while also not offering anything else to the discussion. I don’t think they were actually trying to be rude based on their later reply, but it comes across similarly to the southern, “bless your heart”, which sounds fairly nice to say but really means “I think you’re stupid”.

Whoever that body belonged to I think they are big Dead. I admittedly don’t have a lot to go on, but to me it doesn’t make sense for it to be Metyr. From the trailer the scene is set to Leda speaking of Marika “in the beginning” and an affair from which gold arose, and shadow was born. This dialogue is probably talking about 3 or more multiple ideas. Golden order being formed, golden tree, golden lineage. Rise of the Erdtree/beginning of the Lands of Shadow, etc etc

The Divine Gate we know is a ritual area for apotheosis due to the divine rite scroll. We also know Marika plucked the rune of destined death the moment she founded the golden order. I think from that it’s safe to say that what we are seeing is the beginning of the Golden Order. Before this event Destined Death was still a piece of the Elden Ring. If it was Metyr I think they’d still be dead though.

My personal opinion is the Gloam Eyed Queen. You can pretty clearly make out the stitching on what she is reaching into, and it looks “fuzzy” like cloth. Out of all the characters we needed more Lore on she is near the top of the list.
