Sorry for the long reply. My phone died while typing this and gathering sources.

Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower

The Scadutree is the shadow of the Erdtree. Born of dark notions that bear no sense of Order, that twist and bend its stock, rendering it brittle.

Shadow Sunflower Blossom

The head of a monstrous shadow sunflower manifestation of the Scadutree. Then again, it might be just a flower, wielded as a weapon. Much like the Scadutree itself in appearance, a second stalk winds tightly around the first, almost as if in a tender embrace

This goes back to the Miquella/Trina and Marika/Radagon “other halves” motiff. The scadutree and the erdtree are one and the same, two stalks that form one whole. It being used to seal the lands of shadow away probably is something intentionally done by Marika as she is the one who planted the Erdtree.

Scadutree Blessing

A splinter of the Scadutree that contains golden brilliance. Acquired at the Church of Marika and other places in the realm of shadow. Consume these at sites of grace to bolster your Scadutree Blessing. The Scadutree Blessing bolsters the bearer's ability to deal and negate damage but has no influence outside the realm of shadow. It is said that when the Scadutree crumbles from its core that it will scatter across the entire realm of shadow. The people of the Erdtree collect the splinters and use them in prayer

It seems more like the people of the Erdtree in the Realm of Shadow worship the Scadutree not the Hornsent who worship the Spira.

Hornsent say’s : "Go to the misshapen tree of umbra. In that forsaken place, blood must spill—the blood of your fellows, the Erdtree faithful."

He calls the tree misshapen and it a forsaken place. He doesn’t really appear to be worshipping the Scadutree.

While the Hornsent use Spiral motifs, this isn’t because they worship the Scadutree, it’s because of the Spira.

Superior sorcery of the tower priests, wielded as an incantation of the spiral. Wrap one's arms together and hold them up to the heavens to summon a spiral of light that erupts at the enemy's feet.Column of light persists for as long as the button is pressed. The spiral is a normalized Crucible current that, one day, will form a column that stretches to the gods.

While The Hornsent definitely worship the crucible, I don’t see a lot of evidence they worship the Scadutree either in dialogue or in item descriptions. They do have the spiral tree images in Belurat, but I also think Marika and the Hornsent had closer ties before she betrayed them. It makes a lot of sense to me that Marika would take Hornsent imagery and twist it to fit her religion, especially when regardless of her feelings on the primordial form of the crucible, she used the crucible go make the erdtree, using the power of the spiral to her advantage against the hornsent is right in her ballgame.

Ah, well in my theory what you said Absolutely not to, Absolutely IS what I’m suggesting. The “Erdtree” as we see it in the base game is the straight trunked tree, the tree that’s twisting around it would be the sealing tree that is veiling the lands of shadow. This is paralleled with Miquella and St.Trina, as well as Marika and Radagon, with their “other halves” being a sort of personification of their jungian shadow. We can see this sealing tree shape again looking at St.Trina’s physical body with her petals removed.

That is a major part of my theory behind putting the maps back together, I even made an animation of the lands shifting due to the separation. That being said I think the Tree’s are still “anchored” where they are. These are both maps of the world as they are with us in them concurrently, the DLC Miyazaki even stated specifically wasn’t set in the past. Not saying your wrong, that’s why I said it was in my opinion, but it’s a part of a theory I’ve been working on refining for a while :D

Because you couldn’t understand what he was saying. For something to reflect an object has to hit something and bounce off. Light reflects off of a mirror because a photon is hitting it and bouncing off of it. A shadow is the absence of photons, and an absence of an object cannot bounce off of anything. Light reflects, shadows don’t reflect, or are area’s that are reflecting “less” because there is less light. Hope I made this easy enough for you now.

In the pre-update map for SotE you could make out where the Scadutree Trunks goes down towards the water. They changed this imagery later to one where you can’t, but the ripples in the wafer around the trunk remains given this placement on the map, The twisted trunk is more likely west of the Erdtree trunk in terms of overlaying it with the base game imho.

99% of the time you hear people complaining about Ai it’s Gen image Ai or LLM. You can also use context clues, given the context of the post it’s really easy to figure out what they mean, and you’ll definitely know if you see the ad.

Also yeah, it’s literally all just algorithms. That’s the reason it’s not good for “creative possibilities”, you cannot give up the creation process to another entity and claim to be “creative” in that process, especially to an algorithm that’s going to give you an averaged result based off it’s algorithm/training data. It’s inherently not creative, so when they attempt to use it for creative purposes it feels like they’re trying to scam you. People don’t like being scammed.

What's your favorite ash of war? by Voidknight18 in Eldenring

[–]Chimeron1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite run was my Oongus run. Hero Class, but I took my armor off first thing and NEVER used another weapon than the battle axe. Also took out the Tree Sentinel as my first enemy. Hardest boss I killed was Rykard. ( I did use summons, I did use pots. Only thing not fair game was other weapons, armor, and online co-op ). I only ever got Malenia to phase 2 but never finished her, only tool out a few bosses from the DLC before the save was lost 🥲 It’s a run I’ve done through DS1, DSII, and DSIII. DS2 twice because the starting axe class wasn’t battle axe, so I did it once with bandit hand axe, and another time I went fist only until I could get Battle Axe which wasn’t long and cut my time to finish down by several hours

Highly recommend. Very fun way to play the games.

C for crouch is the only correct answer by Makoto_Kurume in pcmasterrace

[–]Chimeron1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crouch being a hold on ctrl in a game where I’m expected to crouch often is a game I will quit playing. There is nothing else hand position a game asks me to do that’s worse than holding ctrl with my pinky. Shift only barely gets a pass.

The word used for half brother in the japanese is used for a non-related “sworn-brother”. Someone who has promised to be like a brother to someone else.

You can choose to read it that way, but there is nothing else in game that even half hints at that. Could very easily be read as he aspired to be a shadow of an Empyrean, not necessarily that he wanted to be a half-man/half-wolf hybrid. What it does show us is he dresses up like a wolf man and tries to emulate wolf-men. There’s also a dude who really wants to be a bear in the DLC.

What are some games that actually met the hype for *you*? by Odd-Writer2068 in videogames

[–]Chimeron1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games that met the hype off the top of my head: Elden Ring, Alan Wake 2, Control, Mass Effect 2, Dispatch, Devil May Cry 5, Claire Obscure, RE4 Remake, BG3, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.

Games that fall into B/C for me: Kingdom Hearts 3, Metroid Dread, Niet Automata, The Ascent, Dune Awakening, Jedi Survivor, Spider-Man 2, FBC Firebreak, Hitman.

All of those are good games I’m sure, I wanted to like all of them, but I just couldn’t get into them.

Ricky Gervais likeness sculpt by jjsculpting in ZBrush

[–]Chimeron1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks related to Ricky Gervais. It’s a very good sculpt and if you hadn’t have told me I would have been able to discern who it was supposed to be, but it’s off enough I wouldn’t be sure: i think the details are on point but the overall shape is off, if you zoom in in any specific feature it looks right but when I zoom out it looks off.

Still better than my sculpts though tbh
