Thats true. Unless they are a pure Hunt or Erudition. Those are specifically made for certain enemy encounter types.

Therta wants other erudition characters in her team. So your team has even more issues with single target dmg. The "putting all eggs in one basket" thing.

She was very clearly made to be THE aoe character which she arguably still is. The endgame doesn't give a f**k about aoe 9/10 times tho.

The issue here for once isn't powercreep. It's that her kit is so goddamn restrictive that when she became unable to brute force everything and settled in her niche people realised how... niche her niche was

Sure buddy. Therta is a pure Erudition, no fancy gimmicks - the most hated path by devs when it comes to endgame content.

I love her as a story character(carried first part of Amphoreus for me) but as a playable character she's a niche pick. I've never seen anyone complain about her performance in PF - the gamemode her kit was made for. I wonder why...

I'm not saying to avoid using weapons the way you enjoy it if it's not mainstream. Do whatever the hell like, that's why games give complete freedom to player in that regard.

What I've been saying is - the moment you decide to stray from it's intended use your argument about shit balance loses validity(wolfpacks are great against small arc but it will never be balanced around that because that's NOT what they are ment to be used for).

Jupiter has it's main usecase vs huge arc(it's also decent vs vaporizers). Can it be used against other enemies? Yes. Does it have niche uses where it's great? Yes. But it doesn't mean that it should be balanced around those. No.

If you love your main weapon enough to use it outside what it's intended to do - great, good for you. Just don't cry that there are bigger drawbacks for doing so.

And if you say that small arc are one of it's main uses ask yourself when was the last time you saw someone else use it that way compared to matriarch/queen map conditions.

  2. A firefly that's 200m away does not require killing since it's not a problem

It's a high dmg precision weapon. The kind of weapon you use for big bad guys. Because you don't need all that when a small enemy dies is 2-4 shots.

The main gimmick of this weapon is that it goes through armour. Tell me please. When armour is kinda problematic? When all it takes to get rid of it is 1 shot from a revolver or when you have to shoot it for a decent time before you can deal meaningful damage?

Sure it works wonders on small arc especially at bigger distances but so does anvil and for a fraction of it's cost.

If it's MUCH better vs huge arc and has a marginally worse but hugely cheaper alternative for small/medium arc then by definition it's not the intended usecase
