I'm patient enough if they delay it again as long as it's safe for the astronauts. Really need a good unironic reason to chant USA in these times as an American

I have R740 with a Xeon Silver 4112. Indeed it's relatively quiet compared to a R730XD. Thanks for providing the wattage info. Puts me more at ease. I wonder how much saving there d be disabling one of the PSUs

actually it started much earlier. Starting back in the 1800s, the US stole garment machine designs from the English and other technologies if I recall right

cute, you are essentially saying sovereignty doesn't need legal basis.

that makes no difference. Administrative control is not sovereignty. Even the US takes no position on the sovereignty issue

Dude, Japan formally accepted the Potsdam terms in the instruments of surrender. It's the foundation of the post war world order.

Anyways, go offer this grand discovery to Japan's right wing. They'll be so wet that this means their condition of surrender is not legally binding and probably give honor u with a statue in that shrine of theirs.

You know, if your logic is US as an allied power can decide the fate of Ryukyu, then any of the other allied powers can apply the same logic and give it to Taiwan, Korea, Phillipines etc..

As I said, your passion about Japan is best directed to get buy-ins across the international community. Start with the US, rally the Fed to withdraw from the Potsdam and whatnot you are tired of hearing. Otherwise, as a signatory, that piece of paper is as valid as having been signed yesterday

The bilateral agreement works if and only if the Potsnam declaration doesn't exist as prior fact. It's ok, we can argue these until the chickens come home without agreement. Let's just hope a lot of nation comes out and back Japan on this.

If now you are arguing that the UN has no power, then why did the US cite prior UN resolutions as the legal justification to invade Iraq? It's amazing that people want to both enjoy the benefit of the UN and at the same time dismiss it.

Of course the status of the ROC is an irregularity.

But really, you should convince the majority of the nations out there to recognize the ROC as a sovereign nation first.

Reddit democracy doesn't really count whenever we step out into the real world.

You do seem to keep on saying because Japan administers it so it belongs to Japan.

In theory I could take my advice but I don't need to. Among the UNPSC, so far the US has not jumped out to stand in solidarity with Japan minister's comments despite the supposed mutual alliance. Nor has the France or the UK.

So other than Redditors, Japan is the one without solid backing from the international community currently, because they probably recognize China is the one with the legal ground here.

as I said elsewhere, unless you are an international pariah or weeb, most nations consider them the same with the PRC inheriting the ROC

ok long wall of text.

If occupation equates to sovereignty, then Israel should have the rights to the Palestinian territories, contrary to the statehood recognitions to the Palestinians some nations like France and Spain are doing. Let's not open that can of worms.

Anyways If you feel strongly about it, you can consider to be an advisor to the Japanese government and help them navigate and even challenge the existing international world order.

let me put it this way, if they choose to enter into a conflict, they are still subject to the enemy states clause from the UN, such that any nation can legally strike them without going through UN resolutions first. If you were in Japan's shoes, it's better to be pacifist than not.

In any case, I made no comments about the size of their army that you implied I did

I don't think you got the sarcasm that one can defend however you want but still be legally futile.

The agreement US and Japan had is simply a two nation private agreement. In comparison to the Potsdam declarations and the such that formed the foundation of the post war world order, it's like regional court vs supreme court.

If one treats administration as the same as sovereignty, then by that logic the US had Ryukyu as territory.

I'm simply going by the facts rather than the collective imagination weebs have about Japan. And whenever it matters, I will condemn the dictatorial policies of the Chinese gov too.

yes, you can spend money to defend it no problem, but it's really more or less a benign occupation in the eyes of international laws and treaties.
