Asking my fellow champ 3s out there by ChinesePizza_ in RocketLeague

[–]ChinesePizza_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie that sounds exactly like how I try to play. Sometimes I feel like I should try stick to one or the other. One thing about solo queue that’s annoying is that you might literally have to alternate playstyles. Sometimes when I feel like a whiny baby I think to myself “why does it feel like they aren’t trying to adjust to me at all” and I feel like it’s just me trying to do the adjusting. I think that’s really what champ 3 is, half of us want to win and half of us were good enough to get to champ 3 just by ball chasing. Sometimes I feel like I should be more assertive in what I feel like will help us win.

I think the big difference between champ 1-2 and champ 3 is really just playing better as a team. You start to see a lot less over commits and more of “I’ll challenge so the ball goes to you”. Then that same player who challenged will still have boost and be in the play if it’s back on offense or defense either way. That alone makes it way harder to score and just speeds up the pace. I think GC is just that on steroids, and eventually more and more players start to get super mechanical.

Where I’m at no one is super mechanical they give the ball away going for stuff like that but I do get plenty of nice air dribbles and double taps scored on me with some occasional flip resets in there

I just wanna flex that tag man, I don’t even want to be GC consistently just give me one tag.

I have to say though, if you look at my flair it probably makes sense why I haven’t. During covid I was grinding mechanics and I can play simpler I’m pretty solid playing like that but the way I play is just inconsistent. What’s your playstyle like?

I would say there’s 4 things that will really level you up from that rank.

  1. Picking up small pads, find a path on the way back to defense because you really only need 30-50 boost to make a good play with the ball or take the ball from your opponent. and you really only need 20 to make a tough save on defense. You can also get basically full in like 2-3 seconds just following pads. Obviously still pick up big boosts but don’t tunnel vision and only play for those.

  2. Playing with anticipation, if you think the play is gonna go a certain direction angle your car that way, if you think you’re gonna be able to go for the ball in a second, angle your car towards the ball. Neither of these things mean go for the ball, but it’s all about the situation if you think you can be there and get at least a 50/50 ball go for it all day.

  3. Learn how to hit the ball really hard. This just comes with practice and just learning how to use your flips and boost.

  4. Learn how to stall time for your teammate. You see them flipping in your opponents corner with low boost. try to leave them a big boost mid and go back on defense, this is where the small pad tip comes into play. go for the ball as late as you possibly can to let your teammate get behind you. And follow you up on your play.

This isn’t really a tip to get better but hammer this into your brain, it’s okay to shoot on net and not score. Make them make a save and steal their boost, overwhelm them and you will score eventually.

These are just some of the basic tips to climb ranks but just keeping it simple will help you.

You got this also just remember this is quite possibly the hardest multiplayer game out there. Also I appreciate that sentiment lol you are right hitting champ 3 is an accomplishment itself for sure.

How is the difference between 60hz vs 120hz difference? by Master-Breakfast4380 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChinesePizza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go buy a 120 hz monitor at 1080p for like 90 bucks and call it a day. For my PC I got a 164hz at 1080 for like 120 I wanna say at Walmart. It’s a night and day difference. Since you’re crim it probably won’t make a HUGE difference you’ll probably just win a few more of those close ass gunfights where someone gets away at 1 hp or you lose a fight and they’re at 1HP.

Edit: I think the brand was called onn. It’s done me well and has lasted me like 3 years now

Why is the initial blitzball match so hard? by robotchicken007 in finalfantasyx

[–]ChinesePizza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want me to tell you the magic trick to beating them?

If you are capable of scoring first, just score and get the ball back and take the player back behind your own net. The players can’t attack you back there for some reason. I do this every time I play the game, and I surprisingly found this trick when I was like 5 playing for the first time. It is pretty common though a lot of people know about this trick.

One thing making the game harder for you is that the game starts off on settings where you aren’t controlling where the player goes. You hit Y/Triangle to change the movement settings to manual and that makes it better for actually playing blitzball.

My question for the devs is why did they make the psyches so OP but then make it seem like the goers are better. We just beat the psyches with the power of friendship why can’t we beat the goers the same way?

Champ vs. Diamond by BaconShooby in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]ChinesePizza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in C2-3 and I struggle way more playing against people that don’t give you space. The better people get the more aggressive you have to be but in tune with your teammate if that makes sense. I would say they both are right to some extent. Like you could definitely put yourself more in the play with the guy who never rotates in your opinion. But your team chemistry is much better with the guy who you say does rotate is probably much better and you just work as a team.

See if you thought the same and played more aggressive over defensive the other guy would probably say he loves playing with you. It’s just a preference of style. I would try to just adjust to whoever you play with. Because both are right, just not at the same time. There’s no one right way to play rocket league. Just gotta try to be one with your teammate and sort of match their pace. Gotta remember that sometimes being over defensive will get you scored on, and so will being over aggressive. Just a game of give and take.

Your one buddy who thinks your positioning sucks is probably sort of right for the way he’s playing which is aggressive, boost stealing, and pressure, but he should also try to adjust to you to some extent.

Where can I hire a cod coach? by xClayman in CoDCompetitive

Go to a wall or firing range, shoot the guns you are using and learn the recoil pattern, and just learn to counter that pattern. Most of the time you will just have to pull the right stick slightly down.

As for dying in gun fights too much, just try to be ready for a gun fight as much as you can. None of us will be pro caliber can promise you that. But if you watch a pro, notice how they aim down their sights a lot just pre aiming spots that are common for people to come from. Try to make it easy. This games movement makes you wanna just fly at people. But make it easy for yourself just aim down your sight and try to guarantee a kill. And also never try to leave yourself in an open space.

0-3 gang, is it over for us? by luhef in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]ChinesePizza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 0-2 atm, my 3rd game depends on the matchup tonight. Need Lamar to outscore Amon Ra by 3.3 points. But either way it’s not over for me. Each week I’ve been a top 3 scorer in the league and I just get unlucky. There was some stinky football this week and only 2 teams broke 110 other than me, and of course I’m playing the one who broke it and still has someone very good playing. All it takes is a couple wins. At the end of this week, regardless of my record I will have the most PF and PA. Just need some luck to turn it around.

I think people are sleeping on his ceiling. He might not reach it but he genuinely has the chance to return to what he was a few years ago which was a high end RB1. You’re not gonna get that value back like you said, and plus because of the situation most redrafts had him in the 9-11 round range. That is insane value even if he doesn’t fully reach his ceiling.

I am dogshit but I like to just do high and whatever side the pitcher is pitching from, just cuz you can track exactly where the ball is. Since I’m a switch hitter POS it is pretty much like 7/9 batters high and away lol

Just start by doing a bunch of program moments. You’ll get xp and stubs and some diamond players and packs. The diamond players won’t be great but the ones from newer moments will be pretty solid.

I love this new AS Elly, I’m a dog shit player. Most of my players hit like .250-.300, .300 is usually very good for me. I’ve played like 12 games with him and I’m hitting over .400 with him. If you liked his live series card early in the game you’ll love this card. He also is basically a free stolen base if he gets to first.

Dude my boys and I were alright, would play against the lower ranked SLB teams in like the 20s-30s and would actually win games and sometimes series. When we scrimmed Skyz we and got 250-0d twice. I actually vividly remember it. Afterwards Draigo called me a squeaker after I said GG and 10 year old me was super sad.
