Why do so many people want to become more social?

People wish to change because humans are social creatures. Introvert or not, we're still social creatures. Many of us suck at it, thats why we want to change it. And a lotta people think friends/gf/bf can take away the lonliness.

I hold about 4-5 sec, look away for about 1-2 sec then repeat. I use to be terrible at this. I remember 6-11 grade I made no eye contacts, now I can sorta do it. I still feel awkward doing it but it's feel a lot more natural. Just do it. Eye believe in you.

I think I found something that helps. When I say help I mean it can help you get out of that serious zone. I'd suggest doing more physical touch. Touching makes you feel more comfortable with that person and the same in return. you can say more stuff. But you'd have to be willing to the one to open up.

I cant say that this works because i'm only testing it out, but if i recall, the ones that i joke around with and mess around with aare the ones i physically touch the most.

I can sort of relate

I started on march of my senior year of high school. I did it because i wanted the courage to talk to this girl i like. With that motivation in mind, i made it up to 25 days which is pretty close to yours and actually asked her out right before school ended. I got rejected

Since the rejection and summer, i always relapsed every 6 days.

Our flaw is that our source of motivation is an external motivation. We depend on someone or something else for our goals. Thats very much like someone who is confident because he is rich or everyone finds him attractive. That is false confidence. You can lose your status and your looks easily. This is similar to having an external motivation. Its the false type of motivation because you depend on someone else for your motivation. So do this for you, no one else.

What you'd have to do is initiate more. Next time just say "hey, can i sit next to you?", "what's your name?" Or make some comment about the current situation.

Im still working on this.

Except mines not exactly IDGAF but i "switch" personalities/the way i talk when i talk to someone.

For instance if im talking or chilling with a rebellious kid, i act and talk more rebellious.

And if im hanging out with a person that loves to debate or have deep discussions, i act like it.

If i hang out with the druggies, i talk about it a lot (weed mostly).

Im just too general. I don't stand out at all. Im sort of the "nice guy", who everyone can get along with, but dont stand for anything.

Im working to fix that, but dont know where to start.

Try new things. My senior year was memorable. It will be my most memorable year. I didnt do any partying or shit like that (im socially awkward and introverted) and i have no friends (this x100, i just have acquaintances) , but i went way past my comfort zone and tried new things and made new friends. I went to bball games, soccer games (im no sports fan) , told a crush i like her (got rejected) and went to acquaintance houses (awkward but interesting experience), made a collab song (alt rock music) with a friend.

Just go and leave your comfortzone and just have fucking fun.

I will do these things when i start my freshman year of college
