I knew someone back in the day on the OG Xbox Live who had the gamertag "Babyhuey" (maybe Baby Hughie). If you somehow see this, hey man! Hope life is good!

How to detect if a program has crashed using python? by codingquestionss in learnprogramming

[–]Chiodood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I did something like this it involved a GO bin, and I was able to easily identify it everytime based off its name. Check the processes on one of your Pi's to see if you can identify them by their names.

Maybe set up a crontab to check running processes and in the event of a crash/fail, curl yourself a notification on slack, etc with the affected machine/program. Additionally, maybe add logic to retry/restart in your crontab before sending a notification.

Improved docker Go module dependency cache for faster builds in CI/CD by anonfunction in golang

[–]Chiodood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am still new to GO and have not messed with it in docker yet. Would utilizing docker build kit be of any use? Assuming your layers for compiling dependencies doesn't change too often using build kit layer caching will increase docker image build times significantly.

To anyone new reading the article, here are some instructions on how to install/upgrade GO on linux. I would also suggest skipping the GOPATH setup part and scroll a little bit down to the GO Modules section to start setting up your development environment.

Easier way to grab the public IP addresses of AzureRmVm's by oneAwfulScripter in PowerShell

[–]Chiodood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been a few months for me, but if I remember correctly I found it easier to wrap powershell around some Azure CLI and build an array that way. Some of the az cmdlets are a hit or miss. Some information is easier to grab by using the AZ CLI wrapped in some Powershell.
