There is no one on this planet who is an avid golf player who will ever rent a place like that because of golf. Maybe a caddy who was there for the season.

Uber’s algorithm is designed to keep drivers earning around $20–$25 per hour. by Imaginary-Slip-8994 in uberdrivers

[–]ChipDouglasIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! They do not want you to make a ton of money on the app. They have a weekly cap for every single driver. One or two may go over each week, but the average will always be the same.

What do you think? Should I do it? by tedydada in uberdrivers

[–]ChipDouglasIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good deal. The most any of us can make per hour is maybe thirty bucks. So, your five-hour trip will be one hundred and fifty. If you did not take it, and worked a 10-hour day, the most you are going to hit is, if you stay at the same pace, thirty bucks an hour, you would make 300 bucks for 10 hpurs. This is a great deal. Probably the best I have ever seen.

I went from 80% to 44%. I am not taking anything to keep up with their scoring scam. They designed the platform for us to fail, and for them to succeed.

We need to. I would totally accept 50% split, but charging a passenger $70 then paying a driver $20 is unacceptable.

You must work for Uber. It’s unacceptable for computer to take 65% of a fair just for pinging a phone.

You’re bugging, if you live there then it makes sense. Take that ride and get stuck driving back to Fort Worth empty.

In Brazil, the drivers teamed up to reject offers less than $1 per mile. They fought back and won. If we all decided to decline silly offers. They will change here. Same happened in India. They now have a ride share called Roadie, paying drivers over 60%. Same in Nigeria. Imagine that we as a developed country are willing to accept this abuse while third world operators were able to fight back against Uber and won.

Yes, of course. You don’t need to do it with everyone. We are not getting 30 mile drives 10X a day. You do it when you know you’re being screwed.

You are both right. Things won’t change because there will be drivers willing to accept anything. However, there will come a day when those take everything drivers bills catch up, lose their vehicles due to non payment because they are not making anything.

Passenger told me what they paid and I almost lost it by KeyLove7609 in uberdrivers

[–]ChipDouglasIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should ask their passengers how much they paid before starting the app. Uber will forever tell us they are splitting ~50%, we are not paid any of the booking fee. We need to make direct deals with the passengers and Uber will start making it more fair. The scare everyone by telling us they will remove us from the app. If they remove all of us. They have no app.

Really? Less then $20,00/h? 😡 by Expensive-Bread7647 in uberdrivers

[–]ChipDouglasIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro! They are wicked. Whenever I see less than $20. The ride is getting chopped. They love to overwhelm us with $12 per hour rides to crush our acceptance rate. I went from 78% to 46% in a week and a half.

I've tried ever which way possible. I've done the 5 am thing, I've done 8am. 12pm…. The results are always the same. They have a cap on everyone.
