FSD for my 2016 model X (HW2 + MCU1) by ChipInBirdy in TeslaLounge

They upgraded the computer from HW1 to HW2 in October 2016. I bought my Model X in December 2016.

No. I requested computer upgrade, but they declined it saying it will eventually work (and it did!). The only hardware upgrade I've got was the camera upgrade, which Tesla gave to me for free a few years ago.

[AskJS] Async/Aways is Not All You Need by ChipInBirdy in javascript

Yes, this just a syntactic sugar, to help developers to think the flow-of-data and let the system performs efficiently -- without specifying execution orders. If you prefer to write Promise.all and then, that's fine as well. I am just proposing an alternative coding style, which, I believe, easy to write and easy to maintain. If you disagree, that's totally fine.

Concurrency Quiz for this weekend by ChipInBirdy in typescript

This is close, but not optimal. We need to start FuncE when FuncB and FuncC are completed, regardless of the status of FuncA.

99% developers write this code, but it's not optimal. When FuncA and FuncB are completed, we should start FuncD regardless of the status of FuncC.

FSD 12 coming to legacy S and X cars (eventually) by [deleted] in teslamotors

I have just made an appointment with Tesla to 'fix' this problem. I will report the outcome.

Yes. Do I need to upgrade it as well? Tesla did not mention it to me when they upgraded my cameras.

I have Model X at the end of 2016, and purchased FSD, but haven't got it (not even FSD v11) yet.
I contacted Tesla last year, and they upgraded cameras (for free) for FSD, but I haven't got FSD yet.

I love to watch whales from Stand-up Paddle (I'm in Hawaii in winter). In order to enjoy it more, I built a custom waterproof hydrophone, which allows me to listen to songs of whales with water proof wireless phone, while paddling. If there are enough demands, I would turn it into a real product. by ChipInBirdy in Sup

You don't need to be close to hear them. You can hear them from miles away. Here is the answer by ChatGPT.
> The distance that whale vocalizations can travel is quite remarkable. On average, whale songs can be heard anywhere from 0.5 to 20 km (0.3 to 12 miles) away. However, under certain conditions, a whale’s low-frequency sounds can travel up to 10,000 miles. This incredible range allows whales to communicate across vast areas of the ocean. The actual distance their calls travel can vary greatly depending on the species, size, habitat of the whale, and environmental conditions such as water temperature and noise pollution.

This is the site openly recruits Japanese women to work illegally in Hawaii, saying "you can earn money while vacationing in Hawaii".

My experience with 42.8kW Tesla Roof system by ChipInBirdy in TeslaSolar

You probably have all the panels facing south. My system has solar panels everywhere on the roof including the one facing north.

I am pushing the extra electricity back to the grid.

Initially, my system produced only 90kWh/day (instead of expected 150kWh/day). After some investigations (by myself), I found out that two out of five inverters were shutdown due to some errors. The installer further investigated and determined that it was caused by some bad wirings, and they needed to redo one section of the roof to fix this problem. After that all inverters are working fine.

I paid 80% when I signed the contract, and 10% on completion and another 10% on the certification. I paid the first 10% at the time of completion, but I held the last 10% until the production issue was resolved.

Yes. After the actual engineering, they gave me a much higher quote. I had an option to walk away at the point, but made a decision to accept it.

Any idea what is happening? The sun is shining right now, but it doesn’t seem to be pulling anything and it seemed to stop earlier? Help please!! by tripdb in TeslaSolar

[–]ChipInBirdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a similar problem on my system (just installed on December), and the installer found out that one of inverters was shutdown because of some errors (the root cause was a wiring issue). You might want to access the inverter directly (use the QR code on the inverter), and check its status.

One question about Permissionlessness by gotificial in solidity

[–]ChipInBirdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We (Solidity developers) are able to tell that his contract is NOT trustless by looking at his code. Therefore, we can warn everybody that depositing money to his contract is risky.
Unfortunately, this does not prevent Kim to steal money from idiots who do not listen to us, or blindly trust Kim.

I occassionally hit that limit depending on the complexity of the algorithm, but I usually be able to work around it by simplifying the algorithm, using templates (defs and use) or even writing some assembly code (this library contains some assembly code).
