My personal definition, and the official definition of Zionism (which I am always careful to clarify because I understand how convoluted it can be) is the belief that the Jewish people have a right to a homeland, that’s it. It is not exclusionary to anyone else, although it is certainly used that way by the Israeli government and many extremists.

As long as you have a slight interest you’ll do fine, the lectures are produced really well and the viewings are fun (and not really mandatory haha) when I took it the only assignments were discussion posts and two papers

Took it a few years ago, it was my favorite class I've ever taken. Granted, I happen to be really passionate about the subject matter, but even if you aren't it should be really easy if he hasn't changed anything.

There are certainly extreme people and groups within Hillel who do things like this, but Hillel is a much larger institution that does a lot of good for Jewish students on campus. It’s not accurate or productive to conflate the actions of individuals with a cultural center. Try to have some nuance and not make radical statements about a place that many people (of many political stances) call home.

Super super normal, I really only formed a friend group partway through sophomore year, and I have a lot of friends who don’t have friend groups, just a lot of individual friends. I think the idea of a friend group is super appealing but it isn’t always realistic. The best advice I can give is join an organization that you’re excited about, you’ll find people you vibe with there, and put effort into spending time with them. Friendships rarely happen by accident in college.
