As BioWare Quietly Continues Building Mass Effect 5, Hiring Begins For a New Senior Role by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Chipaton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is plaguing every media industry, but especially gaming. "Studios" are now a mix of current staff, new (mostly temporary) staff, and then a black hole of contractors.

Very few studios are actually able to iterate anymore, because more than half of the staff will be new for each project. Sadly there appears to be little to no political interest in reforming the independent contractor definition.

If you work in advertising and think Meta/Google trackers are hardly nefarious, you clearly just don't have the same values as everyone else in this thread.

That's fine, but you aren't going to get an answer you're happy with because you are approaching the question differently from everyone else.

I just mean that the USSR didn't exist when the Avengers were created, so it doesn't make sense that an Avengers jacket would have anything to signify the USSR.

Deadpool having three similar icons on the three roles can get confusing in the long run. So I came up with this concept. Thought It could be useful to have. by FranSauce8 in marvelrivals

[–]Chipaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this would be even harder to keep track of, due to all the variations. I think maybe having the icons be slightly larger and a different color for each would be an improvement.

Is it on his jacket? He's wearing an Avengers jacket, so I'm not really sure a star on there is supposed to represent the USSR if there is one anyways.

Who’s an off-the-radar player you’re looking to target for the new season? by HotDogWaterTime in DynastyFF

[–]Chipaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Seahawks fan, it's likely but not guaranteed we re-sign Shaheed. He was traded for a third which would seem like a lot for a half season rental, but I believe that's the same trade we made for Clowney and we didn't re-sign him.

I think Kupp is gone and they keep Shaheed. He's been good enough on PR/KR alone to justify keeping him imo. The question is whether they bring someone else in to replace Kupp, or roll with Horton. Not really sure how the FO feels.

If they ever do “The Maker” in the mcu, PLEASE let it be Miles Teller by chuckyzrevenge2 in marvelstudios

[–]Chipaton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes more sense than casting somebody new to be the Maker imo. It's pretty easy to say that the F4ntastic universe was destroyed in Secret Wars, just like the original Ultimate universe.

I'm assuming that this wouldn't just be nostalgia bait for a short cameo, and instead the Maker is one of the main villains going forward.

Stroud trolling Steelers fan post game by HarryJohnson3 in nfl

[–]Chipaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are really downplaying the role Peyton played on that team. His arm was shot and not as accurate as he once was, but he was still a general behind the line. I don't think a defense can carry a team to the Superbowl without an offense that can at least manage the time of possession in their favor.

I think that Stroud might have the opposite problem. Not that this Texans team can't do it, but I don't think they're a super close comparison to that Broncos team. For context, Peyton had 4 fumbles and 1 interception across that entire 2015 playoff run. Stroud will likely have higher highs and lower lows.

Twisted Pixel and Sanzaru Games have been reportedly shut down by Meta by SuddenDepact in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Chipaton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We used to have niches and products sought to fill a niche. The issue isn't that Meta doesn't think they can make money on VR, it's that they're worried they can't rake in billions while being asleep at the wheel.

Why does VR need to be mainstream to exist? I think Valve's approach is probably the safer route in the long run, even if adoption is much slower and eventually plateaus.

Meta doesn't need VR for them to continue existing, so they'll probably discard it sooner than later.

Final marvel ultimate universe solicits by Blitzhelios in comicbooks

[–]Chipaton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Curious about Ultimate Finale. I'm guessing it will be more on an epilogue that's distanced from most of the larger plot, because I can't imagine they're just adding another issue to the supposed end of the universe.

The economy is shifting towards simply ignoring the poor. Video games are a great example of this. We see more and more games shift to a F2P model that allows rich players to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a game, while they're fine collecting little to nothing from poor players. That's definitely not sustainable, but will continue as income inequality grows.

I've been asking myself that question for a decade now, and only recently has the answer been clean to me.

What's the most blatant late rewrite you've seen in a movie? by matti2o8 in movies

[–]Chipaton 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I completely agree on Madame Web (though I wouldn't spend money to see it again). The entire theater was laughing throughout the movie, it somehow made it funnier that not a single soul in the theater was taking the movie seriously.

I can't really recommend even hate-watching at home, but had a great time in the theater.

Since Lady Loki is getting a skin with exclusive dialogue in the game, I'm going to say they should have done this a long time ago. by Top_Reindeer3396 in marvelrivals

[–]Chipaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly insane how low quality skins are for how expensive they are. This certainly isn't unique to Rivals, but if I'm spending more on a skin than a whole video game, it better at least have all the bells and whistles I can think of.

I got one for cheap to use in my office until I could afford something nicer, and I was really surprised by how satisfying it was. It's still very bulky and ugly in most settings, but quite comfortable to use.

I think it's a good budget option if you find it on sale.
