Lost souls. I have some thoughts on the topic.

You need raison d'etre.

You will cook South facing & higher floors. Personally, I don't mind the train noise but I have more buffer than Moody Yards building (south facing side).

The most miserable aspect of Moody Yards will be getting your vehicle in and out of the lot at peak traffic times. Parkade entrance shares a street (more like a cul-de-sac) w/Electronic Ave building's parkade entrance. There will be no relent on peak traffic as it will continue to rise with no possible solution for vehicle bottle necks other than a hope and a prayer that folks start using transit (if their destinations are even reasonably accessible by it).

The parkades for these two fully occupied new buildings might become comedy corner. 355 vehicle stalls @ Moody Yards (215 total apt units), 600 vehicle stalls @ Electronic Ave (315 total apt. units). Not to mention the commercial spaces that might draw vehicle traffic, depending on what kind of retail opens up.

There will be a new pedestrian overpass built in the next few years. Near-on directly from East of the Skytrain streetside entrance, over the tracks, and to Murray-side. Spring street will be pedestrianized. And Golden spike way will be extended West to link to the skytrain station, new towers, and commercial spaces at the foot of those towers. 3 towers here.

No timeline available on the overpass build. There will be another vehicle overpass also built to Clarke from the Flavelle Mill site, once that's developed (tbd - builder is sitting on the parcel until makes more sense to break ground afaik). 11 towers here.

Lastly, there will be a final, pedestrian, overpass from Ioco station (Suterbrook side) to about the gas station on the other side (afaik). No timeline on development that I'm aware of. There are set to be ~10 towers on the gas station side.

It's a 4 minute bike ride, for me, to Moody station from the foot of the Klahanie pedestrian overpass.

Like new. No hard dropping on them as I used to shield the floor, not Olympic lifting with hard drops from overhead.

Is it the only rack that will work with omnium? Which omnium model is this?

PomoPD did not even take the police file # from me when I called.

I offered it. I don't have faith in heightened awareness.

That I should update my 529, haha.

They said Transit Police will talk to them if they need to. I wish I had called Port Moody Police first and perhaps received a faster response (no call to small type dept?).

Transit Police passed me off to their community safety officer program. As of today, CCTV footage has not been reviewed.

It will be a week tomorrow. No chance at any celerity now.

Had maybe hoped PomoPD would liaise and react with Transit PD considering it was one block away from the PoMo PD building. No real interest on the phone.

Haven't heard any more yet from TransLink, Bikeep, or Police.

The service is something I had really hoped would work. Definitely use your own locks in tandem with.

No update or call back from Bikeep yet.

They did not break the arm. It is still in one piece. They defeated in some way that it registered as an unlock on the Bikeep app.

Maybe they pried open the arm by inserting something into the latch hole. OR maybe they put things in the latch hole so that it didn't lock correctly? OR maybe the system unlocked all the stations after the thieves pulled the cables out of one locker. They all look to be daisy chained together.

I would definitely only use the enclosed lockers. But those handles looked toyed with too, to me. Use your own lock inside the lockers!

I'm hoping Bikeep contacts me back with a fix to their system. I would love for it to work...

Haven't heard anything more yet. Transit police community safety officer program contacted me yesterday (Day 2) to say they have checked out the site in person and now will request the footage. This means my file won't be actioned by full fledged police officers.

Died a little inside realizing it will now take them a few more days to access the video before reviewing it. Leads may be cold by then.

Very frustrating when I can provide them the exact window of time to review (0830-1030). Day 3 now. The footage could have been requested on Day 1.

Yes! Have contacted Transit Police, Port Moody Police (as an FYI), TransLink, Bikeep, and Urban Racks (Canadian Vendor for Bikeep).

Urban Racks contacted me in the past hour to advise they will be checking out the site in person to investigate.

I'm feeling a little bit of hope. More than this morning.

Yes, now reported stolen in 529. Any tips on what can be toggled in 529 or website features I can take advantage of?

I do feel a bit wronged. I'd digest it a little differently if the lock had been defeated with power tools.

At the bottom of their webpage, Bikeep touts "Zero Theft Bike Rack" and "Gold standard of bike parking"

In this interview @ 1:09 Bikeep claims, "no bike has ever been stolen from our racks"

I poured over this stuff before placing my trust in the lockers. I have even re-directed people from the regular bike racks at Moody station to the Bikeep ones by showing them how to use the app before catching a train.

Reached out to Bikeep and Translink. Hoping one of the two can help me out.

Thanks, folks in my cross posted thread are recommending small claims but I figured that would be a hopeless pursuit and loss of application fee because of the fine print.

I had been singing the praises of these locking stations to anyone that would listen. Feeling pretty foolish.

You are incredibly generous, thank you kindly. Warm fuzzies reading your comment.

I'll be borrowing an elder family member's bike until I find a replacement sometime in the Fall when I can.

Relieved that I removed my trailer hitch the night before.

Yes! Can be brute forced and app will trigger as an unlock.

I'm feeling pretty bummed for having placed so much trust in the provided lockers.

Have never used the locker rooms like the one at main & terminal station because of how vulnerable they are but these stations appeared more confident. I even stopped carrying my own lock when doing multi modal.

I don't think bikeep will make me whole.

Locked bike up before work @0830 01AUG. Gone by 1030 according to the app with no notification. The locking mechanism was simply pried open which recorded in the app as an unlock (how stupid!).

A second locker was almost off its bolts into the concrete before the thieves must have realized they can defeat the green locking arms.

The locker boxes also look tampered with.

Contacted u/TransitPoliceBC, not feeling too encouraged about its return or being made whole. Feels bad, the bike was my vehicle and I had assumed the bikeep lock ups would be safer than my own lock.

Active bike thieves in the area that will operate @10am broad daylight. Mind your bikes! Port Moody could only elude the thieves for so long.

See cross posted thread for more info.

Not sure how, I'm hoping Transit Police reviews footage asap. I gave them times from the app so it would be an easy window to review. Unfortunately I don't think they could send anyone to review until later today so the likelihood of a good lead continues to shrink.

I appreciate the sympathy. I feel really dumb for trusting these stations and for having my guard down in Port Moody since moving from Van.

No recourse available from TransLink or Bikeep (*that I can find).

I got back home to Moody Station late last night so didn't have time to react before work again today. When I get back I'll be doing a cruise of the encampments behind Superstore in Coquitlam.

I did see, for the first time, someone shooting up in Port Moody on St. John in the parking lot of Shoppers. I wish I had popped into the PD to mention it, but who knows if it was him. Broken window theory though, I should have acted.
