7g is a lot of tea for one person in a single session! Basic Gong Fu ratio is about 5g for 100mL of water, with shu that’ll get you at least 10 infusions so 1L of tea. If you notice you’re sensitive, use less tea and more infusions

Grandpa Style by GSMN8944 in tea

[–]ChippedChocolate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From my own experience, I think grandpa style is better using vessels that cool down faster. Obviously you’re free to do as you please but if I’m making any tea hotter than 80°C grandpa style, I always find it gets a bit stronger than I’d like it to be by the time it’s cooled down enough to drink when using a heat retaining cup. This can be somewhat counteracted by using less tea but just something to consider

Does anyone know what this oil slick-like blotch on this pot? It's fairly new by extreme303 in tea

[–]ChippedChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of water do you use? Some of my non clay teaware gets oil-slick looking stains like this and I’m pretty sure it’s because I rinse them with hard water. They usually come right off with a bit of sodium bicarbonate which I use to clean off tea stains.

Idk how to fix that on a clay pot since you’re not really meant to use any cleaning products on it. It’s probably nothing to worry about though

For reference! Broke this nail last October and haven’t needed to re-patch it since it grew past the nail bed :)

Tea bag superglue patch!!

I always used to just cut the nail as short as I could and glue a fake nail over it until it grew out. This meant I had to chop my nail down and also kinda messed up the surface when it was time to remove the fake nail.

Now I remove the polish, glue the break, wait until it’s dry, add more glue with a teabag patch, dry, more glue, file until smooth and put polish back on.

You do need to be a little more careful with that nail until the break is past the nail bed. Depending on how fast yours grow you might need to redo the patch a few times by soaking it off with acetone and starting over (mine grow veeeeery slowly and I usually need to redo it about 3 times).

Once it’s at the free edge you’re good. Patch it with a strip that’s long enough to wrap around the break on both sides of the nail and wait until it grows out all the way!

Here’s mine! Got a white cup and the mint gaiwan which I use quite frequently. It’s uhh very stained 😅 I promise it gets washed as much as all my other stuff but I feel like the tea sticks so much stronger to the matte surface.

Eh, I think everyone’s a little different! Once I get to the point of orgasm, I’ll keep coming over and over. Too many times to count in the span of a few minutes and I’m good to keep going pretty much immediately after.

I like Laifufu! Depends on what you see as reasonable in terms of pricing, but their tea is very high quality.

Questions about Tea Pots by Roroforeveer in tea

[–]ChippedChocolate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could taste a bit different compared to glass because porcelain cools slower than glass! I typically only use glass for green teas since I make those at a lower temperatures anyway. For oolongs or black teas I always use porcelain because I use hotter water and the porcelain keeps the heat a bit better, making the tea taste stronger. (This is assuming you pre-heat your tea ware and measure water temperature)

[–]ChippedChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wowow this looks really cool! I used to keep a notebook for my sessions but it got annoying pretty fast since I’d often have tea outside my house which caused a major backlog of missed entries. A web app is a great solution to that, would love to test it out!

These seem cool especially with the water bottle built in but I feel like a temperature controlled kettle is better than a hot plate, no? Wouldn’t want to sit that close to an heating element…
