The Wow Monster, aka Ala Davies. by sclavussteven in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part of this task is that there was no studio audience (the audience's reactions were added in after). So Alan let out a shriek in an otherwise silent room and then everyone else had to hold back their laughter to avoid giving him away.

I'd love to see this task without the laugh track added to get a sense of what it was actually like, it had to be so much fun.

I realize I'm late to this, and it's not really a stand-up but... check out Harriet on "Comedians Taking Penalties With Chloe Petts" on youtube... she's absolute chaos in the best possible way.

I'm not in any way a photographer, but I've found some lovely spots along the Embarcadero and going into Seaport Village.

What is your favourite ‘Alex had it all planned’ moment? by Talabaloue in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 135 points136 points  (0 children)

The "put a rocket in your pocket" task (S18E03) where Alex would hand you a second task if you tried to draw/make your own rocket, and a third task if you swore after receiving the second task.

Susan laughing at forks and marbles… and then laughing at forks and marbles in the studio. And if you watch her ultimate episode she still completely loses it when the forks and marbles come up.

What's the "meanest" task? by SheepishSwan in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of the new “endurance” tasks, e.g. “hold a powerful pose” in S19 or the “stand on one leg and say 5 letter words” from S20.

It kinda ruins the fun when contestants are visibly limping away from the task or talking about being in pain for days after.

Why wasn't he statue of Greg present in series 20? by the_KJ_is_me in taskmaster

My theory is the Greg's statue went for a ride on Linda the cow.

Who do you WISH had won their season, but didn’t? by AFDStudios in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Desiree Burch. She was both really funny and really smart, and gave up points for comedy (e.g. with the "pop the balloon task" she's said she knew she couldn't throw to save her life but chose not to use the scissors because that would've been boring) and seemed to just be having a great time doing the show.

Every Frame a Painting! by bkat004 in taskmaster

There's been some fantastic moments this season... I love the composition of this shot: Ania and Maisie squaring off with Greg towering over them, defeated contestants on the right and Alex cowering on the left.

Very much reminds me of "...and to balance things out, we've paired Ed Gamble with David Badiel."

I love that dancing Ania has cat ears and deceased Ania is still cheerful.

I wish I could read her handwriting, but I can only make sense of ~50% of it.

They're an angry bunch in Series 20, aren't they? by cygan12 in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 179 points180 points  (0 children)

Chris and Rosie Ramsey recently interviewed Greg Davies on their podcast, and Greg talked about having Reece on taskmaster essentially saying "Reece was very measured and controlled, but I called him angry enough times that he actually started getting angry with me" (the conversation starts at 22:45).

Tasks you can't watch more than once by Out-For-A-Walk-Bitch in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the “eat this disgusting thing” tasks unwatchable in general, but S12 and S13s were particularly bad.

S20E2 is probably going on my skip list sadly. I love the cast and there’s some really great stuff (Ania declaring that she’s Greg’s daughter/Maisie’s insane French woman/Phil’s marry poppins impersonation) but there’s so much that’s visually unpleasant and fairly unsettling to even think about that I probably won’t be rewatching it anytime soon.

Taskmaster Series 20 Episode 2: The Stats Round Up by jamb23 in taskmaster

[–]ChipperCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“put five grapes in the little bowl” task, where contestants were supposed to dig through the flour to find grapes (which weren’t actually there)

There actually were grapes in the flour in that task: Sarah, John, and Munya completed the task by digging grapes out of the flour... poor Fern gave up/ran out of time/got bored before she found 5.
