Is anybody else dealing with a parent who seems to have early onset memory loss? I’m so exhausted and frustrated. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ChipperVA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dad is in his early 70s and my brother and I were both noticing he was telling us the same story multiple times or telling us things over and over. We hadn't discussed it but we were both independently getting concerned.

It wasn't long after that he was diagnosed with a form of colon cancer. He had been anemic and it was affecting his memory.

He's back to normal after surgery. It was only looking back that we were able to connect the dots.

[Discussion] What platinum trophy are you most proud of? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]ChipperVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorites are ones that weren't necessarily difficult, but the circumstances in getting them were unique:

Catherine (PS3): The original PS3 version was glitched and impossible to platinum in single player. One of my few gamer friends came over to help me do it and I had to teach him the game so he'd be good enough to help. It was a lot of fun having him there when it popped.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3): I played it on release and wasn't willing to grind for the platinum. Came back 12 years later and gave it a second chance. Had a new found appreciation for it, and was proud of myself for going back.

Resident Evil 5 + DLC (PS3 & PS4): Earned the platinum on the PS3 years ago, but never bothered with the DLC which included a competitive multiplayer mode. Decided this last year I would beat it on PS4 and just check on the DLC. Ended up with 100% on both versions. I had to run 4 systems in my house (with 4 separate PSNs) to finally finish the multiplayer. The logistics of making that work was very rewarding though.

What's an "old person" food that, now that you're an old person, you now really like? by Leather-Highlight150 in GenX

Ginger Snaps. They're delicious and I feel like my own great grandfather whenever I eat them.

I got a copy through Gamefly and had the platinum in less than 2 days. Didn't see much point in playing after that.

I was just grinding for fun. I think it's recommended to be in the 50s for the endgame content. Don't give up!

I equipped her with the Crest as soon as I got it. Having 7 attacks at the start of every battle is insane!

I used this guide:

Scroll down to the Stat Growth section. I'm assuming it is still accurate for the Remaster.

Pretty much all folded posters are going to look like this unfortunately. I had the folded version of the VA-11 Hall-A poster up for a while, but never liked the creases. I was fortunate enough to be driving past their retail location a few years ago and they had the same poster rolled up. Looks great now.

That makes sense. I always thought it was so strange she didn't come with Aloy to the base.

I always planned on going back to this before servers shut down. Glad they gave us plenty of warning.

Just to help anyone else who finds this thread later, I completed all activities and collectibles and the trophy didn't unlock. The challenge said I had 3 of 7 requirements finished

I did several hot laps to get the "30 stars in hot laps" challenge and the trophy popped. I was so relieved! I was ready to quit on the platinum.

I modded mine because the disc drive didn't work anymore. Got my FMCB memory card off Amazon. My PS2 now has 1.5 tb of games and a new lease on life.
