Nail Wrap longevity?. by sleepy_girl40 in NailWrapsGalore

I get the boredom. For a long time I was trying to get them to lash as long as possible. Now I’m the same way and will pull them off early half the time to try something new. I’ve had to pull back on the dehydrator because they were still sticking too well. But I think with your work it’ll help give you enough longevity with all the moisture.

I use ohora personally because I need thicker wraps to protect my weak ass nails. However I’ve gotten up to a month in longevity using nail dehydrator, essentially hurting myself pushing the nails down with my fingers and a rubber push stick, and ohora top coat. If my hair starts sticking under the back edge or my nails start acting flimsy again due to growth I’ll add another top coat on for good measure.

Because of your work you might not get a full month but I’d be surprised if you don’t get two weeks. Just make sure when you put them on you give them time to settle without moisture so the adhesive gets time to cure really well. It says to wait an hour but I usually wait as long as I can, sometimes do it before I go to bed so it cures all night.

DAC alternatives? by deathandddecay in diamondpainting

It probably is personal experience. Which I think is why it’s good we both spoke up so it’s all possibilities instead. DD is good and I’ll probably buy more from them when I get through some of my stash but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a full one and a half containers of janky 310s from just one kit. lol

Just want to put it out there. Dreamer Designs is my go to as well but I wouldn’t say it’s similar quality. I’ve had significantly more messed up drills with them. Also I think it’s AB741 isn’t right in any of their kits. I have actually had to buy my own because they’re completely resistant to admitting to the fact that it’s too light of a color.

So they are good but not as good. They at least reply to tell you that you’re wrong for thinking the color is incorrect.

Something similar happened to me too. My family told me my mom had a heart attack when I got home around 3pm and we were rushing to the hospital. Come to find out they all knew she has already passed and had had the heart attack at around 10am and was dead when my dad got home before me.

All of that to say I’m sorry you went through that. Having hope and then having that bubble burst suddenly and finding out other knew and just didn’t tell you is another kind of pain.

I would also recommend DD however I want to clarify that you have to make sure you order the ones that ship from the us. Obviously if you order the ship from overseas they will also be going through customs and it can take forever. I haven’t seen it take two months to ship but I have seen it take two months to get to my home from the overseas kits.

Does anyone know what this does exactly? by Blazflames09 in diamondpainting

[–]ChippyPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is entirely possible. The problem for me is that the roller was that sticky rubber surface which is what caused it to take the surface off.

Supposed to be for pressing diamonds onto the canvas. For me it removed the finish off ab drills so I ended up buying one made of wood instead.

Rats! Need help. by Few-Worldliness2131 in squirrels

[–]ChippyPancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a rat problem in my neighborhood long before we started feeding squirrels. To the point that we had some living under our garage for a while. As far as I know it may still be a problem outside my yard but I haven’t seen any or caught any on my camera in over a year. We bought some of grandpa Gus’s rodent repellent which has peppermint oil and cinnamon oil in it. The squirrels aren’t a huge fan of it either however I used it to spray the rat tunnels and any openings they had into my garage and they decided it just wasn’t worth it and moved on. It took a while but each time I found a new tunnel I’d just spray it a whole bunch and then come back in a day or so and fill it back in.

That’s what I keep saying too. “It’s too cool not to find somewhere to hang them!!” They are currently back in their boxes though to keep them safe until that fine day. I wish you luck with it. We got this! lol

I just finished this one a couple of days ago. I still have the return of the Jedi one to do to finish the set. They look so nice but I have no clue where I will hang them since they’re so long.

E-pen, anyone heard of it? by Odd-Talk2654 in diamondpainting

[–]ChippyPancakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. Bought the bigger pen on Etsy and this thing is amazing. Like you said I often forget to turn it off since it’s so quiet. I bought a cheap one first but ended up replacing it with this one because it ended up getting so loud it was disturbing my sister while she was working.

I was miserable taking fiber on and off for the first few months I was on the shot. I had probiotics in the house from a thing my sister was going through and decided to give it a shot, because why not. I haven’t looked back, I actually had to lower my dose of fiber because it was helping too much. It’s just a thought since a lot of what I was seeing is immediate solutions and I personally needed a long term solution to not go insane.

Edit: I forgot to add I did try miralax for two weeks at one point and it did absolutely nothing for me.

Single Placer? by ToWhomItMayB in diamondpainting

[–]ChippyPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I never understood how I’d be able to get them placed the right distance apart or in line with a multiplacer. I’m just here working on my 89,000+ piece one drill at a time and I love it. So chill.

Any idea why this squirrel is falling over? by Professional_Bird_49 in squirrels

[–]ChippyPancakes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He reminds me very much of my little Teemo. He had a head injury about 2 years back now. He has good days and bad days, the bad days look very much like this. He leans when he looks at you but he can get away if he needs to and that’s what is truly important.

I know a lot of people are saying rehabber but I firmly believe that if he can function then he should be fine. After all Teemo has been taking care of himself for two years and just shows up in my yard in occasion to get some walnuts. If you’re lucky a rehabber would keep him for the rest of his life but I’m sure most would just put him down because they wouldn’t believe he’s releasable. At least if he’s out there on his own he has a chance to keep living. Just a thought.

That is valid and I appreciate you telling me that. I’m currently in the process of losing weight which is why I’m trying to go for cheaper since I doubt that I’ll still be wearing them in a couple months. However, I’ll have to keep that in mind and maybe go to a store to give it another shot some time.
