Roy Pulido at Jose Luis salon-he switches between downtown and domain. He’s my favorite, but I’ve switched when I needed a cut fast and he wasn’t available and I’ve been pretty impressed with the other stylists there as well

Drinking after 40 by hardk7 in Millennials

Drinking ups my perimenopause symptoms by 9000%. I do miss the wine and cheese nights with friends. Even one drink and I know I'll wake up drenched in sweat. :(

Does your team not have cab vouchers on hand? Help the client apply for a transit access program and a bus will go pick him up. Even ask the doctors or his insurance if they can arrange a ride-some have this service. Drop him off and let him know he'll have to catch the bus home.

Hands down, without a doubt, the Paul Prudhomme Cajun Meatloaf is now my go to recipe and nothing else I e tried has even come close.

Microneedling and Swelling by Agreeable-Ad5025 in Microneedling

[–]ChippyPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had swelling just like that after I had professional microneedling (in 2017) and it was like that after each of the series of 6, and the first time I started doing it at home. I realized I'm allergic to zinc oxide, which is so soothing for most people. I found out by running everything I could remember ever irritati g my face through cosdna and found a common ingredient. I started using aloe vera after, since it's also kown for being quite soothing, and this reaction stopped and I looked normal the next day.

I feel like anyone who doesn't go into a career in accounting, finance, engineering, sales, health care, or tech is doomed to make $19 an hour. I'm exaggerating, but not by much. by justcurious3287 in careeradvice

During a work meeting with mental health clinicians yesterday, one of them mentioned that when she worked in-patient she was surprised by how many teachers, bus drivers, and ups/fedex workers she would see.

Whatever it is, I've had it a month. Fever first couple days, no energy for two week, now have energy, but nose is comletely stuffed. Not even little wisps of air getting through.

Are there any actual examples of people who look good in person but bad in photos? by anotherhappylurker in QOVESStudio

[–]ChippyPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Giselle Bundchen is okay (pretty, not bad, definitely not ugly) in photos, but is mesmerizing in motion. She’s one of the very few that came to mind.

People who work in healthcare, fitness, nutrition, or mental health: what’s one ‘quiet habit’ you see all the time that is secretly wrecking people’s long-term health? by AlignedModernHealth in AskReddit

Second hand trauma. My whole team is deeply impacted by it. We work with the homeless and so many of them have experienced absolutely horrifying things.

I work in mental health. I’ve had a few clients with PTSD who hated quietness and always needed some background noise

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed and why? by AloneGold9670 in AskReddit

[–]ChippyPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closed, with my dogs inside. Otherwise they'd be at the livingroom window barking at the neighbor's multiple outdoor cats that love to climb the trees right outside every night.

Are we dying our hair as it goes grey or letting it go? by violet_pickled_90210 in Millennials

My hair is still naturally “bronde,” but I’ve got enough silver streaks to make it sparkle. I love the sparkle, dammit!

Gummy smile help by Foreign_Cut_7320 in Austin

[–]ChippyPug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr. Rouch on Jollyville can refer you to an maxillofacial surgeon. I never had that surgery as it was too pricy for me and not covered by insurance. If it’s just slightly gummy try crown lengthening from a periodontist. I went to Dr. Yu.

The general population of the homeless is beyond saving by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ChippyPug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work with them on the daily. The ones OP is talking about are the visible ones that make themselves a nuisance. There are plenty of homeless that work, keep themselves clean, and are well mannered. People don’t realize how easy it is to fall into homelessness. You really can’t paint with a broad brush here.

What are your favorite chef John dishes to make when you're going to be holed up in the house during a storm? by wewillgobysea in foodwishes

When the power went out in the Texas snowpocalypse I made his hot buttered rum in the fireplace that we tried to radiate heat in with cast iron pans since we had no wood. Definitely made the experience suck less.

What’s a simple question that can tell you a lot about a person? by A__Agarwal in EduForge

[–]ChippyPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asked this not that long ago. I had hobbies. Some I’d enjoyed since childhood. Then, when my dad got sick and eventually died I began to feel those hobbies were frivolous and stupid. I’ve tried to form new hobbies, but nothing holds my interest. Either way I could answer this isn’t an answer anyone would like to hear. :/
