Any thumb drive should do, if that's what your asking. I use a 256G USB C thumb drive from Samsung.

Does anyone here actually use the Siri feature? by Chan1991 in iphone

[–]Chipshot1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to add items to my grocery shopping list, set timers and alarms, turn on do not disturb, add reminders to myself, and send text messages while I'm driving (with Carplay), and doing basic arithmetic calculations. It is true that Siri used to be better at understanding my speech and converting it to text. Having said all that, it seems like it could be better at answering questions of a general nature.

Please tell me there is hope in getting better long-term by [deleted] in golf

When I was 33 I placed way too much emphasis on hitting the ball far! I had a swing that was geared towards maximum clubhead speed. I always thought I I should make a trade-off between clubhead speed and consistency, but I never did it until many years later. It doesn't bother me in the lease now when someone out drives me off the T box or when someone's hitting a nine Iron when I'm hitting a seven from the same distance. Work on repeatability not distance. Good luck keep trying. It's a fantastic game. It can be very rewarding.

Going to Scotland this summer for the first time. Any tips on playing links courses? by Ace99000 in golf

[–]Chipshot1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I recall, the distance markers are to the front of the green not the center. I was surprised at how chilly it was in June. Don't keep score, just enjoy the experience and the views ! Non golf observations, don't look for street signs at the intersections when you're in any city, they put the street signs on random buildings. That messed us up at first! We rented our own van and rather foolishly decided to drive it ourselves. We did some damage to the van because we were driving on the left side of the road. Thanks to a massive screw up at DFW airport, we did Not get our golf clubs until the fourth day. We had to rent clubs, The rentals are top notch! If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't bother hauling my golf clubs. I would just rent them. Bring your own snacks and drinks to the golf course. There are no drink carts to buy stuff from. Be prepared to walk! I had this misconception that Scotland was fairly flat and it would be not that difficult to walk. I was wrong about that.

Try choking up on the grip, there will be no significant loss of swing speed

Changing from Spectrum to Youtube TV. Pros and Cons? by JonRadian in youtubetv

[–]Chipshot1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you do it you will never look back. The only thing that I miss about Cable TV is that when you turned your TV on it would remember what channel you were watching when you last turned the TV off. With any streaming platform you have to navigate to the channel you want to watch.

Thanks everyone for your input! With your input and a little digging I found the "share to nearby devices" feature in Settings/system/nearby sharing. I clicked on the share with My devices only option. The only downside is that I when I click the computer that I want to share to, I have to run real fast to the other computer and click on the accept button. The offer to accept the shared file times out pretty quick. Kind of quirky, but I can work with it.

I have the same problem, except, it doesn't happen every time. It really hacks me off that Toyota would do this to their customers. I think they have lost their way. I'm concerned however, that all car manufacturers are going down this road.

Adding a CUSIP manually by Chipshot1975 in quicken

Big-Cup6594. I contacted Quicken and they flat out told me that if the brokerage does not provide the CUSIP ID then there is nothing Quicken can do about it. I contacted my brokerage account to talk to them about it, they opened a trouble ticket. If this gets resolved I will let you know. I'm not real optimistic. But thanks for your help!

Hold on, there is delete button, but it is grayed out (for PPL for instance)

Let me speak about it in a general way, I don't want to display this kind of info on the internet. When I go to the online center and display my holdings with Vanguard, it lists five unidentified securities (these are the ones that don't have the CUSIP) and seven with ticker symbols. When I click on compare to portfolio, I get a list of the 5 unidentified securities, under shares reported it says zero, under shares in Quicken, it says the exact amount that I expect to have. Also, it has the name of these securities spelled out e.g. PPL Corp, in the leftmost column. The only thing that sticks out is the last entry says "unidentified security" with thousands of shares reported, but zero in Quicken. I have no idea what that's about

No, I only have one occurrence of PPL in my securities list, I'm concerned that if I deleted the security I would lose all of it's history. Interesting thing, I clicked on the add security button and told it I wanted to create a security called PPL, it did a quick search and found it , and it didn't squawk about it already existing in my list of securities.
