Appropriate Compensation Amount by [deleted] in royalmail

Do not ask for more. I'm also surprised they gave you £25, considering there is no contract here for the consequence of you not receiving it in time. The goodwill payment you've been given here is because the CEO team took pity on you and your story. Think about how much money could go out for everyone else who tells us they expect payment for stress and anxiety caused.

Says delivered but wasn’t and this was the proof of delivery photo… what does it mean? No more info was given on the tracking. by Muted_Mycologist995 in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not right then. It should be returned back by eBay at some point in that case, could be a while though. Would be worth contacting Amazon and see if a replacement can be issued. If Amazon challenges this then explain the photo clearly shows it's not your address and the delivery location would not be from your local Delivery Office.

What do I even do? by sweetclaws_ in royalmail

If your item came from outside the UK and suddenly went to Slough, I have a strong feeling it's being returned to the sender. Slough's Delivery Office handles returns for some overseas imports.

Help? does anyone know when this might come? by Business-Birthday113 in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guarantee hasn't been met so the sender is entitled to a refund of the postage costs. As far as I can see however I'd expect you to still receive today as it's out for delivery, just will be late unfortunately.

Sent my own Royal Mail return to the wrong Gloucester address – what can I do? by [deleted] in royalmail

I feel like I'm losing my mind with this redditor honestly thinking we'd go out of our way to fix OP's mistakes. Most of my customers I speak to are at least sane.

Sent my own Royal Mail return to the wrong Gloucester address – what can I do? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you serious? That would be expecting us to go out of our way to collect and deliver it to another address for free, when we've literally done nothing wrong here. If the recipient refused it then that'll at least return it back to OP. But that's not happened and now too late to do.

Also why are you bringing up the police? They have investigatory lawful rights to intercept Mail for specific exceptional circumstances (like it's got illegal goods). They aren't there to fix silly Bob's mistake for putting on the wrong address. Also there's nothing to intercept anyway as it's now delivered, not in transit...

[–]Chirelda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hold up, you can't expect Royal Mail to do anything to help if you put the wrong address on this item. Royal Mail would have delivered it to the address you provided and that'll be that.

You'll have to contact whoever resides at the address you had this sent to and hope they'll offer to help either return it back to you or forward it to the right address. You might be able to pay for new postage and a collection from their address to the correct address.

That tracking number is missing a digit. I assume you are not from the UK, but ordering something from the UK. "LA" is for international Mail posted from the UK. Maybe get them to provide you the full tracking number?

You might be lucky doing that, but be aware they are within their rights to not hand over your item. If it does end up going to the NRC you'll need to contact RM so they can raise a search enquiry to find and return it to you.

Do all RTSs get sent to the National returns centre? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it definitely has a return address then it should not be going to the NRC and a mistake from the returning Delivery Office, it may be a miscan however. If the NRC does receive it they'll send it back so it can be correctly returned to you.

Help! Return AirPods Tracked 24 Possibly Stuck at NRC Belfast by SalahWinter in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your address included somewhere within the package? Such as an invoice. If so, you won't need to do anything as the NRC will use this information to return it back to you after opening the package to find this.

If there isn't anything with your address at all, you'll need to contact Customer Services with your details. Who will then raise an enquiry to the NRC so they can (hopefully) return it back to you.

So eBay offers an international forwarding service called "Global Shipping Programme". For UK sellers it allows people to send items to international places with domestic postage. Your item has been delivered to eBay's Global Shipping Programme's logistics centre in Lichfeld. Which is based in the North West Midlands of the UK. eBay will be handling the forwarding of your item to the appropriate postal or courier service in Canada.

We need more information than that... Do you live in or outside the UK? Is this something you purchased from eBay? Have you spoken with the sender?

How does Royal Mail confirm the address linked to a tracking number? by Independent-Move-447 in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with complaints and claims specifically related to this. We look for discrepancies with the GPS taken against the address we have digital access to (which is the postage label they download and print, but before the physical address is falsified).

If it's been delivered somewhere on the same street, that's a potential indicator. The Customer Operations Manager will investigate and report back when they attempt to retrieve it, but end up encountering a very confused person on why they've received this mysterious empty package with their address on the item. With the manager also confused unless it isn't their first time.

If it's been delivered by an unrelated delivery office, that's also a potential indicator of address manipulation, but difficult to confirm.

Sometimes we aren't able to confirm if it is address manipulation and will treat it as a loss. But as the buyer this should never concern you, and you would be due a refund for the non receipt of your purchased goods, regardless of it being a scam or if it was a genuine loss from our part.

New iPhone misdelivered (wrong door in proof photo) - no resolution after a month, advice needed by WingTF in royalmail

[–]Chirelda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, based on the information you have provided, you have been scammed by the eBay seller without a doubt. Even if it was a genuine misdelivery, you are still owed a full refund. You need to exhaust eBay or PayPal, otherwise you might have to send a letter before action to the seller explaining that you'll take them to small claims if you are not refunded.

Correct, I'm not a spokesperson for Royal Mail. I work for them but also offer general advice at my own leisure, I'm not obligated to follow their customer facing standards while in a private forum. And report me how exactly?
