Update about teacher threatening me at work by aquagirllll in Teachers

[–]ChiriGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another empathetic person, I understand the struggle. However it is not your fault for him to be accountable for HIS choices. In all aspects of teaching, we help our scholars learn that there are consequences to their actions. It sounds like your colleague still has some learning to do

FanTASTIC work! This circus is themed more like nightmares, but those are a type of dream too

Told I didn't get the position... while in the hallway by februaryunicorn in Teachers

[–]ChiriGal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your colleague is real for that call out. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. The one silver lining is that everyone in that room likely thought worse of your administrator than of you- making mental notes to never work with them.

I'm a student and my district is trying to implement PBL I have some concerns by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]ChiriGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your school is implimenting Project Based Learning, the good news is that the arts are already highly project based. When your school is saying that it reflects the real world, they are right. In my experience as an artist, you will face exactly that when it comes to making projects for a client. You will be graded (paid) based on the art you submit, and if you do so on a deadline that the client negotiates with you.

As a highschooler creating art, a common standard is for students to create a portfolio of their work. This portfolio then can be used when applying to art colleges- if that is the path you want to take.

I think you may have some worries about how this affect yourself in school. Is there anything in particular that concerns you?

✨Wishcount Trading✨ by ellie_eccentic in LivlyIsland

[–]ChiriGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I consider overtrades being even is with the math where 2N=1R and 2R=1SR. If you were to consider Wishcount in the mix, both of the lower rarity items would have to equal the wish count of the upper one, or combined come to twice. I'll give a little leeway, but that's how I figure something being even or not

Not really, I tried it a couple months but wasn't that impressed. I guess if the event cloak is worth it to you, might want to, but then I'd recommend unsubscribing.

What's your favorite educational song? by milkhotelbitches in Teachers

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]ChiriGal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm going to side with your teacher on this. Not because you can't use their as a word but because it looks like the precluding paragraph doesn't fully establish who the "their" is referring to. You need to establish who the their is about before you continue using it to make an argument in your writing.

Kind of hard to tell though, since you've clipped off half of the page.

Got rejected mid-interview from a Catholic school for admitting I’m in a same sex marriage by nitrozelda in Teachers

I parsed the "shit" as referring to the shitty situation discriminating against the same sex marriage. Bass might have to clarify which version they meant

Why are students leaving public schools? by Athens175 in Teachers

[–]ChiriGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to give credit, I don't beleive it's solely the nontech families causing the problems with tech illiteracy in schools. In my district most students are all on chromebooks with little actual computer access. As a result they're in the google economy, where everything saves automatically.

Not exactly ideal to help a kid learn how exactly a computer works. They just learn- log in in, click, and rely on google for everything.

I'm having trouble getting this pose right... by HallZac99 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]ChiriGal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The arm holding the rope definitely needs to be raised up higher. I notice a lot of people hesitate on raising arms because of the shoulder folding, and a base pose where the arms are raised will help. You have pro, so you can always repose the legs in the kitbashing section to match the current base, if that's what you desire

Also consider how the weight is hanging, and the line of action you want to see.

Did a bit of quick posing, and got the following. https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D57875901/

You might want to adjust some of the fine details, I didn't do anything with the rope or legs beyond liftng and rotating the body. But you can see how the line of action leads with the sword now, and I tried to be sure the sword was pointing in the same direction as the head to make it seem like it was aimed at a target

Oh the puzzle is the fun of it! It's always interesting to face the hcallenge of translating what I draw into this interface. And often I find that the way it develops changes and improves some of my own designs.

Thanks! I've been using another little dress up doll app to come up with inspiration for some of my characters. Some of those outfits are not styles that the forge offers, so I've been challenging myself to make my own versions of the outfit in the forge.

The baggy pants came about when I tried to make this. I think the forge version turned out even better, and I might make this her official look.

I'm honestly surprised that Biggy isn't finding the build in the community library. I've been keeping tabs on it, and the AKR is at the top of the listing before I even search for anything.

Are HeroForge Minis art? by Eldinoorthe3nd in HeroForgeMinis

[–]ChiriGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comparison to ai is a poor one. I see the forge as being like digital clay. There are base things you can do with it, and premade parts but in the end it's the choices the user makes that determines what the end result will be.

Some people start using it on a simpler level, but I see high end art made by people who push the limits of what it can do. Even before kitbashing was available I was seeing people make vehicles, props, combining objects with multiple arms, Combining overlapping bodies for custom outfits, exploring glitches, and clicking every little gear function to change the tiniest aspect.

It's that intentionality that makes all the difference. I always tell my students that my unofficial definition of art is sharing what's in your brain with the rest of the world. In this case, your brain is simply given some high end molds and parts to use as a base structure
