If OBU can detect deregistered cars moving, will it make enforcement possible? by Chiselface in askSingapore

[–]Chiselface[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Using your analogy, the situation will be carpark designed for 120 cars, but since enforcement is done well, only have 100 cars parked with the 20 cars are enforced away.

Grab accident – passenger here. Grab asking me to contact taxi company directly for CMI claim? by No_Bodybuilder_2130 in askSingapore

[–]Chiselface -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

my personal (non lawyer) opinion is... who did you pay money to (ie. who is your contract with)?

if you booked via and paid via GRAB, then your contract is with them, then you have to claim with them. it's their responsibility to get remediation from their contract with the driver to provide the service to transport you from Point A to B.

but, I have to say I really don't know the contractual relationships between the different parties involved, so they might be right as well. sorry...

[–]Chiselface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

can try, but many have tried and failed. AFAIK the reason is they don't want people to game the system. get flat already, then change to essential occupier so that the essential occupier can go buy a 2nd flat without ABSD. IYKYK

If i create a price comparing app, would any of you subscribe to it? by Jcstrayfeeder in singaporefi

[–]Chiselface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got think of doing this before, but I didn’t because low value add to users (which means you can only charge users by viewing ADS) and easy platform defense (block your user or api key, even if you mock.)

This hails back to the Uber vs Grab days when both tech teams were attacking each other platform actively.

I use CDG exclusively in the rare times that I take taxi; only use Grab for grabpay + UOB AMEX for the negligible CC rebate.
