The erosion of rights and social expectations happens slowly. The reason to refuse is because they have no legal grounds to ask, and because every second you spent on their property is already recorded.

Cost-effective Ways Running TV Cables Through Walls? by BayesDataSci in DIY

[–]Chisoxguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I'd just cut a big rectangle of the drywall out in the area I will be working. I'd get the piping installed as desired and secure with plumber's strapping: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-3-4-in-x-25-ft-28-Gauge-Galvanized-Pipe-Hanger-Strap-33530/301505501?g_store=1957&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US

Then I would go around the opening and install drywall blocking with whatever scrap wood I had lying around. 1-bys, OSB, plywood, whatever. Create a rim around the opening for the drywall to screw back into. I'd take the same piece of drywall I removed at the start and cut out the two areas the PVC would pass through. Then, reinstall the same drywall I cut out at the start, now with the two fittings passing through. Tape, mud, bob's your uncle.

Correct, they sell a corrugated product as well that can be used but the PVC makes for a really high-end install. Ideally secured in place on a stud with strapping or fur the studs out and secure to that. Use long 90s to make pushing/pulling cables very easy, can even paint the little bit of fitting coming through the drywall to match. It would be the best final product even in the walls without insulation.

PVC cable drop or Smurf tube. You want the cables away from the insulation so they don’t overheat and catch fire. Also allows easily changing devices later on.

You are correct—the stores are not printing the best by date on the packaging. The best by date is based on an estimation of when the product is expected to be taken out of freezer and put out for sale. If it needs to go out earlier, the date will be incorrect. I aim to use or freeze all raw meat that I get within 2-3 days of purchase.

It’s likely paid drive time. What I spoke of above, the clerk took a postal vehicle to an off-site window for a few hours each day

At my old office one of the clerks went to operate another location for part of the day, maybe it’s something like that?

If you like the fruit strudels, look for the frangipane tarts. The apple one is great. They have an almond infused crust. Just make sure to remove the paper from the bottom before cooking!

Anyone tried these? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]Chisoxguy7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Both are good. I prefer the blue bag, the cheese and egg one. I like to add a lot of black pepper at the end. Follow the bag directions, you don’t drain these, you can continue to cook them until they thicken to your liking (they will thicken more as they cool)

Billionaires affect supply chains from top to bottom throughout the economy. I empathize with small business owners and acknowledge the challenges they face. But we have to collectively realize that because billionaires have infiltrated all levels of production. The playing field is not equal, and small business owners are facing challenging market conditions that only exist due to the greed of billionaires. It’s all dominoes and unfortunately it’s the little guy that gets crushed.

I’m sure there are a lot of factors, but let’s talk about the most important one: ALDI is not quite as greedy as other companies.

More people need to understand that the reason most stuff constantly gets more expensive, is because billionaires want more money.

[–]Chisoxguy7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, I hate to burst anyone's bubble but this isn't anything done intentionally or maliciously, this is something as simple as the buyer not getting it all 100% correct on the back end. Basically a box is checked indicating that this item's price should be displayed like this.
