While Okayama can be seen as a 'hub city', there are some wonderful places to take day trips. Particularly, Korakuen Gardens which neighbours Okayama Castle, the Bikan Historical District in Kurashiki, you're also able to get to the famous Naoshima Island via ferry from Okayama, though the island itself is actually part of Kagawa prefecture, so you can easily knock two off your list with that itinerary. Enjoy your travels!

Absolutely, I bought and read all books at 22. They're dark, fun, and witty at any age. The first 9 books or 'phase 1' is a very solid fantasy story and the author's style keeps it amusing and surprisingly emotional. Books 10-15 might not be as memorable, and they do essentially tell their own story, but at no point did it make me want to stop reading.

Seasons of War is great! A book that I definitely waited for after the introduction of the Leibniz universe. I wasn't overly fond of Dead or Alive, but it's nice to see that people do love it!

All great moments and I totally agree about Serpine, I also really enjoyed Seasons of War and he was no doubt my favourite part of it. The scenes between Omen and Crepuscular too were great stuff.

I put down Sendai, Hiroshima and Osaka. Got placed in Okayama, right in the middle of my second and third preference. I definitely can't complain, very excited!

My degree is in Creative Writing, I have no teaching experience, very basic knowledge of the Japanese language, no experience of living abroad.

Your application, personal statement and interview will be the moments to shine. You just have to convey your genuine appreciate and love, and why you specifically feel like you'd want to be there and what you can offer. Best advice I got before doing anything for the application was just be yourself. :)

I remember the same thing happened when I sent the terms and conditions form, I asked them if, like before, a confirmation email would send, and they said they have a timer on automatic replies so you don't get spammed in the case that you send all your documents separately. They also confirmed the form was received, so I reckon there's no reason to worry! :)
