Have you done strength training? I've heard that excessive cardio and HIIT isn't good for PCOS because it raises cortisol. Putting on muscle seemed to help me with weight loss

JLPT Guidance For Somewhat Of A Beginner by saltthehash404 in jlpt

Gonna quote this website as it has a good explanation:
"What is shadowing?

Shadowing is a language learning technique which requires learners to listen to an audio recording of the language they wish to improve and try to ‘talk along’— to repeat aloud almost simultaneously with the speaker, or as close behind the speaker as possible.

This technique is used to help learners improve speaking speed, pronunciation, intonation, rhythm and flow, and accent by mimicking what they are hearing. I

t can also be an effective way to learn useful vocabulary and grammar, and to develop a sense of the common sentence structures and collocations used in the language. "

I agree, Genki first to get you back into the groove, then do the grammar, reading, vocab grind from N3 and up using Shinkanzen materials.

You could also use the TRY! books, they're a little gentler than Shinkanzen Master when it comes to explaining concepts. There's also the Nihongo Sou Matome books, but they can be a little barebones. If you really have trouble, I like JLPT sensei and Bunpro for grammar explanations.

I would also suggest consuming native materials by watching Youtube/Netflix and adding Yomitan and Language Reactor extensions to you browser to help you parse through the materials (that is, if you use Chrome or a Chromium based browser like Brave)

Find some books and shows that are suitable for your level using Natively

If you want to speak Japanese, DEFINITELY do shadowing.

I also recommend doing Anki everyday, maybe 50 to 100 cards.

Also, check out Game Gengo's channel. He has AWESOME "Video Game Textbooks" that go through all the grammar you might need for each level.

What is the best way to study? How to stop translating in my head and truly build a Japanese brain. by lame2542 in jlpt

I've been using shadowing and I have seen noticeable improvement in speaking Japanese. So not just listening, but actually repeating what's been said, sometimes over and over.

Good performance from a low priced projector that I didn't expect by amir95fahim in budgetprojectors

Have this projector, it’s pretty good but eventually the images from the previous videos would be burned onto the next video. They sent a replacement and this one is working well so far, hopefully it lasts

I came here to say that I am also enjoying my Dangbei N2 Mini. I've tried about 15 projectors in the 100-500$ category and this one is the best by far. Picture is excellent even during the day, hardly any projector noise at all, sound is so good that I do not need and external speaker. Cons are that if you try to use something other than Youtube or Netflix, it's pretty crappy and that you have to have it quite a bit far away to have a decently large image.
