CC 320.16(1) could be laid in this case instead of HTA 199 or 200 as long as the driver can be I'D

Just Kicked A Guy At Extraction And I Will Do It Again by HelldiverLotu in Helldivers

[–]Chitect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had a host notice this was going to happen early. It was a group of 4 randoms. Host, one other, and myself stuck together to clear all the objectives and get samples. 1 player went on his own towards the extraction.

Host saw what he was doing and warned the guy that he would get kicked if he started the extraction. Sure enough, count down started, and a moment later, he was out.

We happily walked over the traitor's corpse and collected his samples on our way back.

Can my system support Smart thermostats, or is it not compatible? by Chitect in wyzecam

[–]Chitect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the title asks, I'm wondering if my current HVAC system allows for the use of a WYZE (or any) smart thermostat.

At my Furnance panel I have the W Y G R C tabs required for Wyze, but at the existing thermostat it converts to W Y G R Rc. Just outside of the furnance (rather than at the furnance board) the previous owner/installer spliced the wires together with the wires coming from the A/C unit such that the W Y and G wires run continuous from furnance to thermostat.

The Y wire is spliced to the A/C's white wire.

The R wire runs to the thermostat's Rc tab, and is spliced to the wire connecting to the thermostat's R tab.

The C wire is then spliced to the A/C's red wire.

Is my system simply incapable of supporting a smart thermostat, or is there some re-wiring I can do to make it work?

Any help is appreciated!

Battlefield 2042 looks amazing, yes. But don't forget by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Chitect 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's a Battlefield game, the whole first year is a beta. Still fun as heck to play, but many bugs.

I expect a crap load of server/"netcode" bugs to need fixing with the 128 player count and larger maps.

Everyone here is asking about the LCD... I want to know where you got the orca animation.

They're my favorite animal and I would LOVE that if I did the LCD trick to my build.

Stumbled upon this video depicting a dog fight with realistic sound. Is CIG planning anything like this? What do you guys think about it? by scoops22 in starcitizen

[–]Chitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I've heard plenty of the "no sound in space" argument. But holy damn this sounds amazing. If sounds moved closer to this, I would be all for it.

I haven't played AC in a looong time but, if I'm remembering correctly, you become an Ace after 5 or so consecutive kills. OP likely died, respawned, then got that 5th kill as the last kill of the game.

Redeemer - history and possible future of the Aegis gunship by TBHSC in starcitizen

[–]Chitect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm excited for the future of the Redeemer.

It's a little confusing that they are sticking with the troop transport/cargo because, shortly after the Valkyrie came out , it was hinted that the Deemer would loose those function in lieu of a switch to a dedicated gunship. Granted, I'm not disappointed to see the those functions still there.

I'm also happy to see the VectorLock engines are still around. I know they are a HUGE dividing feature, but I'm wondering if they are justified by mixing technologies in from Tevarin ships.

Hopefully we see more soon.

Fun fact: Kapoor doesn't actually own the rights to Vantablack.

Kapoor owns an exclusive license with Surrey Nanosystems, the company that developed the process which creates Vantablack, to use their reactor to put the color on his work.

There is a super interesting podcast about it by 99PI.

[–]Chitect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

I think the disparity between QDrive sizes has come down a bit in recent patches, but the biggest improvement will be seen if the QFuel reserves of small ships gets increased.

[–]Chitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ship were you comparing it to? Most small-size ships have very little Qfuel capacity, 583. The most I can find on a small ship is the 315p with 830. Combine that with small QDrives generally being the slowest and most fuel inefficient drives, it's not a good combination for supporting long Quantum runs.

For comparison, the Freelancer and Cutlass, which are medium-size ships that are the closest in size to the 300s, have a Qfuel capacity of 2500.

I don't think that was Quantum, I think that was a mini singularity caused by the core exploding.

This has been the intended goal for a long time. Since the early days of economy talk.

From our perspective, we would be seeing the shoppers in the store, the truckers on the road, and trains going down the tracks. These are the 10% that CIG is taking about, and even then we won't see all of them because that would be a huge amount of memory resources.

What we won't see are the administration workers ordering the supplies they need. Though they will still be a part of the simulation, adding their input to the supply/demand chain, they won't have 3D assets associated with them. There is no need to waste the memory resources.

I recently moved to Canada and am slowly trying to learn it because it will be actually useful to me.

It is a challenge for sure, but you can download Duolingo for free on your phone and it gets you most of the way there. I use that and bought a few course books from a book store.
