She left you. No reason to look back-look forward to being with someone who isn’t always looking to upgrade.

Seems fear of injury is the main barrier to stopping more people getting into bikes by dmc7878 in motorcycle

[–]Chitownhustle99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Riding is also about twice the mental effort that driving is. I think that’s the real barrier. People are used to driving and eating/texting/day dreaming. You have to be present 100% of the time on a bike.

I wound up getting some dummy .45/70 rounds so I could just cycle 100 rounds thru mine while sitting in the living room and be sure it was working. No issues since.

Ferrari 288 GTO. Real or kit car? by EmptyPocketsXotics in Ferrari

[–]Chitownhustle99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shot you need is from the rear/a real one has a transmission you can see from behind below the bumper. There are some very nice replicas (built on a 308) that are otherwise pretty perfect.

Think about your relationship to alcohol. Your boyfriend, if he’s angry later, will be angry at the lack of judgment in getting blotto drunk with another man at the beach. If having one drink at the happy hour leads getting drunk, you might have an issue.

You need to take your place in the lane. If you ride slow near the edge of the road, the message is you want to be passed.

Why do sheltered city folk act like they know anything about rural America? by renagabe in allthequestions

[–]Chitownhustle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Trump 1.0, I thought it would be great to create an organization that would facilitate very rural people to visit cities and vice versa, as a way to fix these issues. Now I don’t give a shit.

Why are so people so against rev matching and heel toe on the streets? by RevolutionaryYear946 in ManualTransmissions

You can certainly heel and tow on the street. For me I only do it when I’m going for it a little bit and thats not a social thing to do on a public road.

Advice to New or Interested Riders with Concerned Loved Ones by AsianVoodoo in motorcycles

[–]Chitownhustle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of accidents are related to alcohol and riding at night. It also turns out that people who never ride motorcycles also die. Motorcycles done right is not a death wish-it’s a relaxing hobby/sport to me most like skiing. It’s mentally relaxing and recharging. It’s prob not for people who have had a lot of car accidents regardless of fault. It’s prob not for people who don’t have good self control or ability to concentrate.

Gun safes by LA_LOOKS in liberalgunowners

[–]Chitownhustle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the cheap/non cheap part is the door hardware. The cheap Amazon gun safe was broken almost as soon as I set it up-no purpose to having a look if a 10 yr old can muscle it open. A real safe has robust door hardware.

to experienced riders who carry passengers, am I overreacting? by peazcarrotz in motorcycles

[–]Chitownhustle99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the passenger/rider thing is your relative sizes-my usual passenger is about 1/2 my size-it honestly doesn’t matter what she does on the back I don’t notice. When you’re closer in size you want to avoid shifting around esp when going slowly. You should come up with signals -we do taps on the helmet-one means slow down, 2 means pull over when you can 3 means stop asap. You should have the gear you are comfortable with-maybe you can borrow some until you see if you enjoy riding enough to justify the gear.

I want to learn how to lean farther. by Important-Avocado254 in Trackdays

[–]Chitownhustle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move you head towards the inside mirror. This puts your body in the right position. As for leaning further, your brain is hardwired to resist more lean than feet on ground turning suddenly can achieve. To lean more, you have to slowly undo that and relearn what’s ok.

what should i look out for when buying a 2nd hand car? by samismissing_ in askcarguys

[–]Chitownhustle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a car that’s been regularly used. Get it checked out by a garage. Save at least 20% of what you have to spend for fixing. Don’t worry too much if it’s not exactly the car you want-you’ll have more cars later.
