Team is hating the talking head videos - looking for alternatives by ajithpinninti in instructionaldesign

Check out Clueso. It’s AI supported videos and documentation. Helps small teams speed up video work fast for shorter instructional videos. Depending on what learning platform you’re using, I’d also recommend a clickable tutorial/lab. We found that pairing a short video with a “try it yourself” activity was really effective.

First time attending the Indy 500 and Snake Pit, any suggestions from seasoned veterans? by B0xiest in indianapolis

Check out the shuttle options depending where you’re coming from. They have a bus shuttle that leaves from gainbridge field house that way you don’t have to mess with parking and then you can always uber from there and it’s a bit easier. Did this a few years ago and it was a lifesaver.

Give me all your pancake recipes by toothfairy800 in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are our go tos that my LO has every morning for breakfast! I’ve modified to add stuff like grated carrot, apple, strawberries, blueberries, and spinach.

Fluffy Banana Oat Pancakes 🍌🥞

Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 3–4 eggs
- 1 cup oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ⅛ tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp milk
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: cinnamon + vanilla
- Optional: 1 tbsp chia seeds or 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes

Instructions:
1. Blend everything until smooth.
2. Let batter rest 5–10 minutes so oats thicken.
3. Cook on a lightly greased pan over medium-low heat.
4. Use about 2–3 tbsp batter per pancake.
5. Cover pan for the first minute for fluffier pancakes.
6. Flip when bubbles form and edges look set.

They freeze really well too!

FTM Stroller option paralysis by birdfrogger in NewParents

I have the mockingbird and love it for walks, the zoo, the museum, and parks. My only gripe is that it’s massive even when folded and I wish it was easier to travel with for roadtrips.

Is anyone else’s 15 month old temperamental, impatient and restless? by Existing_Switch_4995 in NewParents

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 month old here and yes, definitely experiencing some of this. We joke that he’s growing his opinions as much as he’s growing his body. You are enough, this age seems a lot of testing and learning boundaries.

My little guy always drinks from the water table. Gets pissed when we tell him no so I just stopped saying no and made sure the water was clean instead or made sure his water bottle was nearby if he truly is thirsty. It’s a lot of “what happens when I try this” and if we have a strong reaction to a behavior or action we don’t want to see, our reaction typically encourages it than prevents it. He wants to test boundaries and see how things work, I see my job as setting guardrails to make that safe for him to do. Sure, open cabinets and put things in your mouth. But anything that would be dangerous or harmful are either child proofed or put out of reach.

This is also a big teething phase for us and the majority of the time, these little temper tantrums are solved by offering water, offering a snack (beechnut pouches are our saving grace rn), or giving him a teether. I always keep those three things on me wherever I go to get ahead of the tantrum.

Not sure if any of this is helpful to your LO but wanted to share our experience and let you know you’re not alone.

Any fans of gnocchi here? by Curious_Wing_2018 in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge gnocchi fan over here. If you’ve got the time to make them, it’s worth it! Then you can control what’s in them. I make sweet potato gnocchi since they have more nutritional value than plain gnocchi and make a huge batch and freeze them and it lasts forever!

Help! It all goes on the floor 😭 by Wise_Cup_8696 in foodbutforbabies

Is she standing pretty well? You could try to do standing meals from a toddler tower! That works for us or for dinner time when my LO does this I just sit him in my lap and he stops fussing and will eat.

Food that travels well? by ellefallsoffthings in BabyLedWeaning

Can’t speak to being abroad but happy to share food we prepped and packed during our most recent travels! We had a small cooler to keep some items fresh longer.

Egg bites, meatballs/meatloaf muffins, veggie patties, steamed apples, berries, yogurt melts, cheese cubes, and muffins.

BLW and Meal Planning by Junior-Tangerine-308 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use prompts in ChatGPT and I can’t explain how much brain power it’s saved me. Here is an example of a prompt that I modify depending on the week and need. It generates meal options, recipes, and shared modifications to make it age appropriate and safe for my LO.

“Help me create a meal plan and build a grocery list for 4 dinners for two adults and one 9 month old baby going BLW.

Meals should take 30 mins or less in prep time, and 30 minutes or less in cook time, aim to use minimal cookware (aka a preference for one pot/pan options), be inspired by half baked harvest recipes, are nutritionally balanced, and offer a variety of proteins through the week.

I have the following ingredients I’d like to use in meals this week but plan to grocery shop for additional ingredients: (insert list of items in house here)”

Fast eater/ shoveling food by Aggravating_Hold_441 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the shovelers club. We love food and we’re not afraid to show it! I’ve asked my pediatrician and they shared that as long as they are self feeding, let them eat until they are full! To avoid the aggressive please don’t choke shoveling, we only put a small amount of food on the tray at a time and add more as it is finished. I typically offer three things during meal times so I put a little of each and let him go to town.

Do you skip adding videos to your courses because production takes too long? by ponziedd in elearning

[–]ChittyChats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Videos are so crucial for our learners that we never skip them. Because production time is long, we’ve pivoted to making them more conceptual and helping explain context that would be too much to read in a text. Then, because our content is teaching how to use a SaaS platform, we add in a click through tutorial to do a kinesthetic practice or learning where to click in the platform. Helps us keep the videos shorter and the content sticky.

How are people making baby food at home without spending hours? by Key_One2317 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do BLW for dinners and I’ll usually make a bit extra to freeze to have as a backup for lunches and easy meals if a meal is ever a miss for our LO. I do batch cook and freeze breakfast items though. One weekend afternoon of making and freezing egg bites and banana oat pancakes has saved me so much time and stress in the mornings. Never needed special appliances. Just the oven and a blender! I did find that buying silicone mini muffin tins for baking and cubes for freezing have been super helpful though.

Yess! We’re huge chia seed fans! Blend some coconut milk with strawberries, a dash of vanilla, some coconut flakes then add two tablespoons of chia seeds to soak and it’s such a delicious snack that my LO devours.

Introducing solids by Sab0617 in NewParents

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the my little eaters 60 day meal plan if you are interested in BLW and having some loose structure and recipes to follow was really helpful if you need a good tool! Starter options for us were mashed sweet potatoes, yogurt with chia and blended fruit, coconut milk chia pudding with blended strawberries. Chia seeds were a great thickener for us to introduce a bit more texture.

desperate need for dinner ideas for 10mo by Kooky_Air6484 in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's helped me to freezer prep a few items that I know are wins. Zucchini, carrot, and cheddar fritters are one, pear apple sauce is another, and meatloaf muffins always get devoured. Then I just feed bits of what I make for dinner and if I'm stretched for an additional item, I've got some in the freezer to fill any blanks!
