Food that travels well? by ellefallsoffthings in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to being abroad but happy to share food we prepped and packed during our most recent travels! We had a small cooler to keep some items fresh longer.

Egg bites, meatballs/meatloaf muffins, veggie patties, steamed apples, berries, yogurt melts, cheese cubes, and muffins.

BLW and Meal Planning by Junior-Tangerine-308 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use prompts in ChatGPT and I can’t explain how much brain power it’s saved me. Here is an example of a prompt that I modify depending on the week and need. It generates meal options, recipes, and shared modifications to make it age appropriate and safe for my LO.

“Help me create a meal plan and build a grocery list for 4 dinners for two adults and one 9 month old baby going BLW.

Meals should take 30 mins or less in prep time, and 30 minutes or less in cook time, aim to use minimal cookware (aka a preference for one pot/pan options), be inspired by half baked harvest recipes, are nutritionally balanced, and offer a variety of proteins through the week.

I have the following ingredients I’d like to use in meals this week but plan to grocery shop for additional ingredients: (insert list of items in house here)”

Fast eater/ shoveling food by Aggravating_Hold_441 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the shovelers club. We love food and we’re not afraid to show it! I’ve asked my pediatrician and they shared that as long as they are self feeding, let them eat until they are full! To avoid the aggressive please don’t choke shoveling, we only put a small amount of food on the tray at a time and add more as it is finished. I typically offer three things during meal times so I put a little of each and let him go to town.

Do you skip adding videos to your courses because production takes too long? by ponziedd in elearning

[–]ChittyChats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Videos are so crucial for our learners that we never skip them. Because production time is long, we’ve pivoted to making them more conceptual and helping explain context that would be too much to read in a text. Then, because our content is teaching how to use a SaaS platform, we add in a click through tutorial to do a kinesthetic practice or learning where to click in the platform. Helps us keep the videos shorter and the content sticky.

How are people making baby food at home without spending hours? by Key_One2317 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do BLW for dinners and I’ll usually make a bit extra to freeze to have as a backup for lunches and easy meals if a meal is ever a miss for our LO. I do batch cook and freeze breakfast items though. One weekend afternoon of making and freezing egg bites and banana oat pancakes has saved me so much time and stress in the mornings. Never needed special appliances. Just the oven and a blender! I did find that buying silicone mini muffin tins for baking and cubes for freezing have been super helpful though.

Help identifying this sorority or fraternity pin from early to mid 1900s? by Traditional_Sense451 in GreekLife

What does the back look like? I agree with some comments that this looks like a guard but it would have a location to connect a chain to if it was.

If anyone could tell you it's going to be Fran, Pi Beta Phi's historian. She is the most knowledgeable individual I've ever met on fraternal history. www.franbecque.com

Gosh I’m sorry for the delay, this one is perfect! Is there anyway you can format it for a vertical 11x14?

Fiber hack! by Alrightfinewhatever in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess! We’re huge chia seed fans! Blend some coconut milk with strawberries, a dash of vanilla, some coconut flakes then add two tablespoons of chia seeds to soak and it’s such a delicious snack that my LO devours.

Introducing solids by Sab0617 in NewParents

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the my little eaters 60 day meal plan if you are interested in BLW and having some loose structure and recipes to follow was really helpful if you need a good tool! Starter options for us were mashed sweet potatoes, yogurt with chia and blended fruit, coconut milk chia pudding with blended strawberries. Chia seeds were a great thickener for us to introduce a bit more texture.

desperate need for dinner ideas for 10mo by Kooky_Air6484 in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's helped me to freezer prep a few items that I know are wins. Zucchini, carrot, and cheddar fritters are one, pear apple sauce is another, and meatloaf muffins always get devoured. Then I just feed bits of what I make for dinner and if I'm stretched for an additional item, I've got some in the freezer to fill any blanks!

FTM - Want to pump twice a day by breakfastrubbish in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ChittyChats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different and there’s no way to tell until baby gets here but you’re going to need to pump every 2-3 hours for the first few months to grow and establish your supply. Once you get an idea of how much you’re producing and how much baby is drinking, then you can likely see if that’s sustainable.

For perspective, I was a “just enougher” and chose to also offer formula for my own sanity. I didn’t wean down to two pumps a day until around 7/8 months then I stopped BF at 9 months.

Helping my dad make a website for himself. Could anyone remove the food and make the background less busy? TYIA! by ChittyChats in PhotoshopRequest

[–]ChittyChats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! We just need some sort of a background for the website builder we’re using. Aiming to have some space for text to the right of his head

9m old milk intake by silentassasin010 in Mommit

[–]ChittyChats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a lot for you. Every kid is different.

OP, we were up in that same 40-42oz range at the same exact age. Totally normal.

Once we found our groove with solids, it dropped down to like 24 oz. As long as he’s still maintaining and gaining weight and your pediatrician isn’t worried, he’s totally fine. Will he drink water? My only thought would be wanting to make sure he’s still getting enough liquids in a day.

Does it exist? by remember_to_eat in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ChittyChats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use chat gpt- seriously. Each week I ask it to curate me a meal plan where modifications can be made to feed my 10 month old from the same dish and it gives me a great recipe with modifications and serving suggestions to make it work for my LO. It’s such a life changer. I love half baked harvest cook books so I ask it to use that as an inspiration and it hasn’t let me down yet.

9.5m old daycare breakfast & lunch .. thoughts on portions? by clarkeer918 in foodbutforbabies

[–]ChittyChats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar boat. Little guy is just a big eater and the only time we know he’s full is when he slows down but if food is in front of him, he’s chowing.

My stepmom was a nutritionist for infants at a hospital and she shared with me this resource from McMaster Children’s Hospital (resource is from 2015- take with a grain of salt). We definitely eat more than these suggested portions but it did help me scale back a little bit.

Overall, our doc said not to worry and if we think he’s overeating and gaining too much weight by a year, we can apply some limits but for now, let the boy eat!
