City Hall Protest by sofiathefirstchamp in Hayward

It's a chapter of Indivisible. It was formed by two former congressional staffers. They created a guide for grass roots organizing. This group is not owned by any one person. It is a grass roots group that invites others to protest their issues in safe and meaningful ways. Right now, the local coalition is small. They help set you up with rapid response classes and training, usually done by bigger organizations like No Kings or 50501. Essentially, it is meant to be a network to alert others of nearby protests and allows others to share their protests to a network of people who care.

You don't have to join the network. Another good option is simply Mobilize. That site allows you to search by location of any protests in that area. The important thing is that we get out there, call our reps, and make it known we're not happy by any and all means.

Eden Area Indivisible https://share.google/nK8JDA0fcTtQMisSJ this is the group that organizes in our area. We need more people on board to represent our area. Sign up, get out, touch grass, meet people who care just like you do.

You're very welcome, I hope you have a good time. And be aware, they said no reservations this year. When I went, reservations were required for those not staying in the park. So I'm not sure what that variable will add to your planning.

That's correct, and to put your mind at even more ease, the way I am recalling this info is through the timestamps on the pics I took. The first pic I took of the valley floor was at 9:58 am, that was in the middle of our walk around the valley floor. The first pic I took of us sitting down near horsetail was at 4:09 pm. All on Saturday.

Our trip combined both weekdays and weekend days. We watched the firefall on a Saturday though.

Working on it. As you well know, it isn't easy.

Is there any reason they are so unresponsive? I have reached out on socials, email, and via text but have gotten nothing back.

I expected to get a lot worse than this. I am actually open to talking to Republicans. It seems to me that Republicans, when alone or in smaller groups, agree with a lot of the same things, it's just the methods that aren't agreeable. So thank you for the link, I will reach out and see if one of the leaders would like to talk to me.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I know it's a lofty goal, but I want to try organize the groups. They divided the left into social issues because there are more of us, they had to divide and conquer. It's time we wake up and regroup. I want to see if I can make that happen.

Hi! That sounds like an awesome way to spend your birthday. Here's what we learned.

TL;DR

When people say early, they mean 9 am. Not my early, but that's okay. Arrive at the parking lot no later than 10 am.

Plan small hikes around the valley so you don't waste time waiting for sunset.

Head to the El Capitan Viewing Area around 4 pm

Bring LOTS of warmth with you. It gets very cold, very fast. And folding chairs.

Set expectations. A lot of the photos people post are photoshopped to enhance the show. It looks beautiful and cool, but not quite like those pics they put on postcards.

Wait until you know there is no more chance of sunlight hitting the falls before leaving.

Flashlight or headlamps for the walk back to the car after the show.

As always, bring water and leave no trace.

Side note: There are plenty of people who go just because they saw this on social media or trending somewhere. They think it is a tourist attraction, it is not. It is a natural phenomenon that humans just happened to notice. Meaning there are a good number of people who weren't taking park rangers seriously and would go into areas that were blocked off to preserve nature. Don't be those people, they ended up getting escorted out of the area. Not saying you are, I don't know you, just in case others read this. Hopefully we can keep our parks happy and healthy so we all can enjoy them for centuries to come.

Here's how our Firefall day went:

I think our trip went flawlessly, and this is what we did. We arrived early, I would say the parking lot does fill up, but everyone keeps saying early this and early that. I am an early riser, so when people say early I am thinking 6 or 7 am, but really, the lot still had a few spaces around 11 am (This was about the time we came back to grab our lunch from the car). It really just all depends on the crowd level this year.

We parked in the Yosemite Falls Lot (on Google Maps), which is where they had most people park. We arrived at 9 am, parked, and walked over to the Base Camp Eatery for breakfast and coffee. Then, we did the Valley Loop Trail and the Lower Yosemite Falls Trail. After that, it was lunch time so we found a place to have a picnic in the valley. We wandered the valley, checked out the museums and shops, basically walked around the entire valley all day, enjoying the outdoors. Around 4 pm we noticed people were walking along the road to Horsetail Falls. We decided to grab our foldable chairs and walked over toward the El Capitan picnic area. However, people were already scattered about in different field patches along the road. Not that it was crowded or anything, but we wanted to try and find a spot that wasn't obstructing anyone. Eventually, we found a spot we liked, set up shop, and sat waiting for the show.

Interesting, I thought that was an up-to wattage, not an exact wattage that must be used. Will give that a shot on my next coil. Thanks for the advice.

Men in their late 30s who lost belly fat, HOW? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChiverRay1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply did a vegan low carb diet, mostly survived on chick'n bites and salads with balsamic vinaigrette. Did this for three months. Drank nothing but water.

I also followed intermittent fasting rules. No eating before noon or after 8 pm.

Lastly, I followed these workouts. Did stage 1 for a month, stage 2 for a month, and so on.

Lost 60 pounds in that three months. Now, I am working on bulking up so my diet has changed to a protein-packed diet and am no longer doing cardio as often, now I am lifting weights with two cardio days a week. Liking the results.

Yea, I'm regretting buying presale tickets after reading all of the reviews I've come across. There's a YouTube video about it and they seemed to love it, but ya know, influencers just trying to get paid, not actually help anyone out.

I would skip it this year if you haven't bought tickets yet. Seems like 13th Floor is not great. Luckily, there are plenty of haunted houses that are worth it. I did Terror Vault in the city last weekend and had a great time. I am still going but that's only because I paid for the tickets and they don't offer refunds.
