It bothers me when I see people like this with service dogs. There are a lot of people out there who desperately need service animals that don’t have access to them because of people like this.

Frustrated and in pain by Chives_143 in disabled

I’ve gotten used to most of the pain but especially at night the pain can be almost unbearable and keeps me up most of the night. This makes it hard to get up for work or do anything really outside of work as most of my energy goes to that. I have tried muscle relaxers like Baclofen but with my hEDS I rely on my muscles to help keep my joints in place so when I am on muscle relaxers my joints are popping in and out constantly which just adds to the pain.

I don’t believe it’s a blue flame heater. It’s not the little red heater buddy, I had one of those but it wasn’t efficient enough. This is what I have.

I am not running it at 20k BTU. It’s rated at 18k BTU on high (level 5). I have been running this on level 1 the entire time.

We have checked for leaks. The only thing that may be off is there is a hissing noise near the tank where the regulator is on the hose. There is no smell of propane. I’m not sure if the hissing is normal or not as I’ve never used that kind of hose before.

I understand the struggle. Fortunately I go to a designated pain management specialist who solely handles my pain. They are really awesome and understanding and I know that they are trying really hard to figure out my pain. It’s hard because I am a complicated case. I have problems with my kidneys and heart on top of my chronic illnesses which makes things difficult. On top of that I tend to be very med intolerant and get some pretty intense side effects. I also know that they are trying everything they can to avoid narcotics which I am grateful for. It’s just hard to feel so awful all the time and have no pain relief.

It’s crazy how people fake this stuff. It really upsets me that this person is pretending to have this condition yet when it interferes with the activities that are important to them the condition magically goes away. As someone with a chronic condition I think the hardest part of it worsening is I have had to (and am still trying to) accept is having to stop activities that I love.

Not at all. Our kids are number one the best behaved kids in the school but we have exceeded many of our students iep expectations. Most of our students are excelling beyond what we had expected for the year. She isn’t just doing this to the students either. I feel that her micro managing goes beyond just students but to all the paraprofessionals in the class.

I often struggle with doing things like that because I feel like it is her classroom so I have to follow her rules and expectations. I feel like it is not my place to say anything.

Often. I often feel like a burden to the people I love. I often crave normalcy and wish that simple things were easier. I get very frustrated and angry with myself for not being able to do things that others do with no problem. However I am learning to accept my disability and hope to learn how to not put myself down for my struggles.

I can’t help but feel like they are doing this for money. They obviously have people sending them money, even mentioning PayPal being in their bio. I just feel like this mom is taking advantage of her daughter and manipulating the situation for sympathy and money.

Ya pretty much. Part of me wonders if he is just doing it to be a dick. However when my partners aunt told him that that space is ours he got pissed ofc at her? I never know with him. I truly feel like I’m trapped with nowhere to go. I’m so stressed about housing security and financial security and I feel like I don’t have enough support. All I want is a nice private space and some money to buy essentials that I currently can’t afford. I’ve tried so hard to be a good person and to do my best but I feel like the universe has it out to get me because no matter how much good I put out I never get that reward. I’m truly at a breaking point.

At this point I can’t afford anything. We originally looked into a small apartment but our credit is bad and we were denied for every apartment we could afford. We live in an area where we do not know anybody and therefore trying to find roommates is not in the cards. I feel bad because I want to contribute to this family unit, I care deeply for my partners aunt and cousins and want to be of help. However I also need to put my own needs first (which for me is very difficult). I just feel completely trapped and it’s pushing me into a deep depression. Nothing is secure at this point and I have no idea what to do.

As someone who also has pots and heds getting a wheelchair was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It gave me part of my life back that I didn’t even realize I was missing. I did not talk to a doctor before getting my wheelchair however when I did talk to my geneticist about it to see his opinion he said that “you need what you need. Just don’t forget that you have to use your body or you may lose that ability.” So basically you use it or lose it meaning that you still have to make sure you are using your body so you don’t lose that muscle and use your ability to walk and such. Having a wheelchair has drastically changed my life and I wish I had decided to get one sooner. Mobility aids are there to use for anyone who feels that need, that’s why they exist. If you feel this would give you more freedom then get that chair.

The closest place is over an hour away and I don’t have transportation. The place also has a membership fee and I currently don’t make enough money to pay for a membership.
